What do you expect when so many people dismiss the idea of religion? If there is no sacredness then there is no culture.

Now there's a loaded statement. Care to back it up?

    Culture predates religion after all.

Negative. Religion is the epitome of culture.

There's only one course of action available to us. Invade the Ivory Coast and make it part of Ireland. Then both flags will be Irish.

    Religion is a cultural invention.

    Sigh.

You just dont get it OP.
Its poetry. The flag represents Irishness.

What could be more Irish than an Irish flag hoisted incorrly.

All cultures invent their own gods and religions or adapt the existing religions of others.

Not as wild as believing the human race began with a couple of apple thieves in the Garden of Eden a couple of thousand years ago.

Proud to say I wouldn't have blinked if I'd walked past that.

You could have made me stare at it for an hour and asked me what was wrong with the Irish flag and I wouldn't have known.

Ironic that Michael Collins has just finished on the telly - lots of people gave a lot for that flag.

    Just sayin'.......

Very proud to say that I couldn't care less and like 99% of the general population, I wouldn't have noticed that mistake. Is the Westin owned by Americans or is the Stars and Stripes just a tool to attract tourists with fat wallets?

Whats with being proud of ignorance? Especially ignorance of something so basic as your own country's flag. Humanity is fcuked...
