What is the state of the game in your county?

Just seen them on SSN talking about this survey they have done in the UK about the state of grass roots football over there,just wondering for those of you that play on a Sunday morning/Saturday afternoon what is the state of the local game in your county? Facilities wise

We are blessed here in Kerry with the pitches in Tralee but I think over 20 teams are using the two pitches there as a base for their home games.There is talk of laying a full sized astro turf pitch like the one they have in Killarney atm to help ease the load.

The weather meant that by mid February, the Galway FA were over 1,000 games behind schedule across all age groups!

A lot of it has to do with facilities. I can only think of two full sized astro pitches in Galway, Mervue and Drom. There's not enough floodlit pitches to play off the games midweek either.

17 grass pitches, 1 grade 3 astro, 13 5 a side astros all within 2 minutes of my house. 19 different clubs in Clondalkin with varying amounts of teams.

if a pitch is unplayable its moved to the astros if your playing for certain clubs.
