Port forwarding with UPC Technicolour router

Hi all, felt it was the best place to get some help.

I recently signed up to UPC in the new house and received a new technicolour router, believe its a TC7200 model or someting along those lines

Pretty simply question, why or how can I open ports on this router?

I've got into the admin panel and got to forwarding, and assigned the ports I want to open but nothing seems to be happening.

I have VNC server and DYNDNS setup on my laptop. I want to be able to access it from outside the house network. Just VNC access would be enough even, but with DYNDNS it would be handier to remember the address.

I also have sickbeard, sabnzbd and couchpotato running on various ports, again, cant get a connection to them outside the network after forwarding ports.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, portforward.com unfortunately had nothing to assist.

    Thanks,
    DOC

OK so got it all working. Turned out it for some reason wasnt saving the target IP address in the forwarding segment. Put in my local IP of the laptop in question, and can now access the laptop remotely outside the network

However dynamicdns is still not working. I'm running the update tool on my laptop, but it doesnt seem to be working, I have to connect into my laptop using my public IP
