add-remove won't work

Of late i can't seem to be able to install or uninstall programs on my pc

is there any way around this? safe mode?

is it a corrupt registry (win xp)

How late? and did you try a system restore.

Try ccleaner to remove them and see if that works.

have a read of this (there is a solution here):

apparently that error code appears when the program cannot update a file, which is similar as your original problem.

ya i saw that website earlier, but there seems to be several solutions..

the 3rd post contradicts the 2nd post, so i don't know what to do

the reply for "@echo off" was marked as the answer, by a Microsoft Partner with a high rating.
