Very unusual and refreshing for the improvement in Donaldson for a lad at 38.

Since the Irish Open - he has kicked on again.

Finally something to get excited about!

Reeds drive on 18 will be a real test, especially with his draw shot, overdid it once or twice today already

Trump won't like Donaldson's hat sponsor winning the tournament if Reed was to collapse

And from that to a prude - should Tiger be walking up the last on live TV - doing a big spit.
I guess we all do it - but strange one.

He could just drink water - he has not run 8 km or anything.

Sorry - just was thinking out loud.

Sorry - was just thinking me Mum or Dad would give out to me if i did that. :P

I remember when he won the Irish Open the commentators saying how he had injury / back problems. So he hit the gym to strengthen up! Seems to have helped the golf greatly in the process

Good win.... but a little bit of an inflated opinion of himself. Top 5? Really? Wonder does he remember his 10 missed cuts last year.

Yeah shocking ego there. Turned me off him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,695 ✭✭✭ForeRight

Fair play. He's confident and it's getting him places.

If he gave a Sergio like interview he would be equally as ridiculed.

    You can't win it seems.

aaahhh - it is just a frame of mind - it is Dr Bob Rotella , but he was saying it out loud.

Sure Twitter is a big stupid statement. Very few of them have walked off with a cheque that big.

Could come back to haunt him. Like Poulter's statement a few years ago, that followed him around for a long time

The only thing Reed's interview really demonstrated was his lack of media training. I think to compete at that level you have to have an 'inflated' opinion of yourself. I'm sure most of the guys in the tournament think they are 'top 5 players'. I'm sure it helps them to close out tournaments as well. The only mistake Reed made was to open his mouth and verbalise what the more experienced guys keep inside.
