I absolutely adore the 288GTO.
I read a story about Eddie Irvine (when he drove F1 for Ferrari) driving his GTO through the streets of some Italian city like that, drifting, tyre smoke etc., and getting pulled by the cops.
When they saw who it was, they laughed (probably got his signature) and sent him on his way.

Anyway. I think I posted this here before but it bears repeat viewing.
Pre the wings, carbon-ceramic brakes, sequential gearboxes, aero packs, ultralight bodies and insane-not-at-all-like-the-cars-you-buy DTM, there was this, E30 M3s, 190 Cosworths, Audi 80s, Sierra Cosworths, Volvo 240s, and later on, Astra GTEs, Calibra Turbos, 155 V6s, 850 T5s. Damn I miss that racing. Mid 90s BTCC came close but alas, it's all gone now.
