Possible to transfer to Trinity?

So I've been in UCD for 3 years now, changed course in 1st year so Im a second year. I absoloutely hate it. I hate the impersonal atmosphere, my course isnt really what I want to do, and Ive regretted choosing it on my c.a.o form.

Is there anyway of transferring to Trinity without going backthrough the cao? I know ill have to pay for the two years ive done, since you only get one free shot at free education and all that, but does anyone know how I would even go about this? Or how much it would cost?

    Any info appriciated!!

    Thanks

Having gone to both universities, what makes you think TCD will be different in what you're looking for?

If you're intending on doing the same course in TCD, you may be able to transfer into 2nd year, skipping 1st year, depending on the subjects already taken

edit: BTW you'll need to have enough points to transfer regardless

Contact admissions office in Trinity. If the course is similar and there's space it's possible you could transfer into the next year in Trinity (assuming you pass your summer exams).

Should be a phone number or details here: http://www.tcd.ie/Admissions/

/sorry, only read there that you want to do a different course. The deadline is usually the start of January so it's possible you missed it for transferring into another course. Also, perhaps contact the SU - the Education Officer I believe transferred from UCD to Trinity in years gone by. Details here: http://www.tcdsu.org/

Regardless of you wanting to transfer there'll need to be a free place and you'll need to have the points.

I was in UCD for a year and agree about the impersonal atmosphere. I actually dropped out, took a year out, and reapplied to Trinity. I'm very glad I did, eventhough I had to pay one year's fees. I'd say contact admissions at Trinity and they'll be able to tell you.
