55% the other grade isn't going through till next few years or something like that. not to sure when, but defintely not this year.

I feel your pain. I was hoping as well

is that for all courses or just yours?

I need it to drop or I'm screwed!

Heres some of the email i got off john fogarty:

    ".......the exams link under CNOC2.

Thirdly, I spoke to Head of Department re progression requirements from
Certificate to Diploma year. As yet there is still no official answer from
HETAC (the overall controlling body) but it does seem very likely that
    >40% will be sufficient for progession.

    Finally, what with......"

If everybody gets under 55% then they'll have to drop it, otherwise there'll be nobody in the college!!!

    theres an idea!!!

I think getting under 55% will be straight forward enough!!! It's just keeping above 40% could pose a bit of a problem! It is a fairly narrow window!

You do all know that this thread is just a ploy for
The_B_Man to make a friend for next year!

there was 2 of us to do a project that 4 people were supposed to do.....and vb is the biggest pain in the ass when your used to writing assembly and java, i passed but its double weighted so i have to make up for ~ 40% in 2 subjects

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,940 ✭✭✭The_B_Man

assembly is kinda hard but vb is relatively easy! i was used to writin C last year then this year we started vb. it wasnt long b4 i got the hang of vb.

i don like visual programming, not using a gui painter anyway, id rather write the code like the java awt, vb isn't hard i just dont like it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,940 ✭✭✭The_B_Man

    ye i prefer C.

i think nobody likes it coz normal ppl can learn Vb but only us super puter programmers know java and C and assembly etc..thats wat i tink anyway.

what languages are bein done in cw036?

ActiveX is a model for writing programs so that other programs and the operating system can call them.ActiveX technology is used with Microsoft Internet Explorer to make interactive Web pages that look and behave like computer programs, rather than static pages. With ActiveX, users can ask or answer questions, use push buttons, and interact in other ways with the Web page.ActiveX controls are often written using Visual Basic.

    MDI

    (1) (Multiple Document Interface) A Windows function that allows an application to display and lets the user work with more than one document at the same time. If the application is not programmed for MDI and you want to work with multiple documents of the same type concurrently, you must load the application again for each subsequent document. Contrast with SDI.

    (2) (Manual Data Input) Refers to entering data using the keyboard rather than by disk, tape or communications link.
