    My car and my dog

Nice looking hatch. I had a Citroen once, never let me down. Also passed NCT first time after being parked up for 2 years. 'twas a great car despite everything people say about French cars. ;)

All I ever hear is great things about old French cars, I think at some stage if I need a heap (After my passat gives up) I may just sway to a 406 or the like :)

Anyone know how much a engine conversion would cost roughly?

Anyone know how much a engine conversion would cost roughly?

€250 for an engine, €150 for the gear box and €400-€500 for labour. Roughly for a MIVEC Colt.

Obviously cheaper (and more interesting) if you do it yourself.

The price of the engine and gearbox. Donor hubs, shafts and brakes.
    A good evening and night.

I have no idea of pricing on them mivecs but anything we've done before had cost €400-500

    Edit: we concur Cian :)

I finally sold my Civic SiR yesterday and bought this Ignis Sport in Killarney last night:cool: 1500 quid well spent huge grin factor and loads of relative torques:D

Needs a waxing and polish on outside and side decals removed and some original white Suzuki Enkies for it instead of the minging MOMOs on her now;)

I am hoping to find a MIVEC colt/mirage with body damage, and replace whatever from my existing Colt.

More fun, if it needs as much as possible replaced, but as long as the rear panels, engine and gearbox are fine. :P

Easier to do than a lot of engine work, as your removing engine and loom and all.
    All back in them :)

in the morning we say goodbye to a car that i always thought i couldn't wait to say goodbye to. but as tomorrow draws closer and closer i can't help but feel bad for it. its been a whirlwind, it's taken us to college, its taken us to job interviews and jobs, its taken us on holidays, its been all over the country with us in the pissings of rain and the blasting sunshine. its been through 2 different apartment moves with us. it was the car that sparked the conversation that established the relationship with my wonderful gf those years ago, it's the car we used to "cruise" in when we were those a years younger :P and the car that meant i didn't really need one anymore. been there through thick and thin, good and bad and never asked for much. it's with more than a little regret that i bid a fond farewell to the polo tomorrow.

i can honestly say i've never felt this bad letting any car go before, any my name isn't even on the logbook of this one :(
