    Quick question about engineering, if I didn't do Chemistry in the Leaving Cert, will i be able to manage it in college through Engineering? is it in any way possible?:confused:

    Its taught from the assumption that you have never done chemistry. Nearly everything is. They've reorganized the subjects but the content is mostly the same, for us about half was leaving cert chemistry the other half was new. Doing the likes of physics and chemistry for LC just make it a bit easier but is no problem when starting from scratch.

    Pretty much everything shruikan said is spot on. In first year, you do a number of modules (maths, physics, biology & chemistry) to bring you up to around LC HL. The latter two subjects don't really apply to whatever discipline you choose, with the exception of Biomedical Engineering, and that would actually be a lot closer to mechanical engineering (maths & physics) than the other two.
    First year is a pretty fun year, you get to try out a bunch of different disciplines to see which ones you'd like to do!
