giant defy....composite vs advanced frames

Looking at giant defy carbon.like the geometry.
Can anyone explain simply the difference between the composite and advanced frames.

The Composite would be the basic CF material, whereas the advanced is higher grade and lighter...

The composite is fine, light enough and Giant manufacture there own frames in-house so always good quality..

I have a TCR Composite, and after riding a carbon Ridley and a very lovely carbon Look, I can confirm that Giant, while the boringly obvious mass manufacturer they are, make really excellent bikes. The composite is as good as anything I've ridden.

Quality of the carbon used in advanced is better than the composite which is still very good. They also have internal cable routing in the advanced.

Quality of carbon is better .ie stronger so they use less layers = less weight hope that helps

Thanks folks. Only a sportive non racing cyclist, so looks like composite would be fine for me.

i have a defy composite and an older bianchi. iv also had use of a trek madone 5 series and i really think the defy nails it for me. comfortable but very responsive (wheels on the comp 1 are pretty good). I cant recommend it enough. The advanced won last years bike of the year award i think and has the higher grade carbon (toray 700 v 600) so should be a bit lighter. If you get the chance ride both but i cant imagine you'd be sorry with either
