So, we are winning the biggest bank account league :D:o

Surely we can afford Bendtner a new contract now

that thought process of the media lapping up every thing he says as gospel is highly naive, they know exactly the kind of statements he comes out with. (if you watched MOTD last week, you'd have seen B.Rodgers and the commentator laughing when Rodgers was asked what kind of horse l'pool were. JM gets criticised/called up by a lot media people for his hypocrisy, etc.)
they also know the kind of knicker twisting responses (see the last few posts here) that he elicits, it makes their job a lot easier and probably a lot more entertaining as well - they aren't idiots blindly following jose they know exactly what it is

classless? externally maybe but look at the reactions & stories former players give of him - a highly liked, respected manager and man. a winner would be another very apt word to describe him - like it or not

    if...

If you watched Sky Sports News 30 minutes ago you wouldn't say that! Also we have said some aspects - not all and I think that is accurate.

Furthermore as I said since we are speaking about Mourinho as a manager. We judge him in that context. It's not a personal attack. In this context of being judged as a manager I believe the comments here are accurate and justified. It's Mourinho who has in the past got personal with people. I agree what you say in terms of people, players, etc but we are discussing him 'externally' as you say and I believe that is fair.

Let's give Wenger over a billion and see what he can win.

I can guarantee you he would bank it, make about 6.6% interest per annum

Meh, poor attempt at trolling. Look at the facts, we've built a new stadium in the middle of London, took on huge debt which left us with little to no money to play with in the transfer market, yet we still qualified for champions league every year. CL was more important to Arsenal than any trophy during those years because of the cash it was brining in.

We are now over that as of this season. If he wants to call that failure then let him. I would consider what Chelsea and City have done over the last 8 years a bigger failure given the ridiculous amounts of money they have been gifted.

This right here!! Arsenal Wenger has done unreal things at Arsenal, more than Jose Mourinho is capable of. Arsenal will be successful in years to come and on their own terms, Chelsea will never be that.

Better have tried and failed my lad, it'll be a team fighting for the lives that'll take the record eventually.

It should have been West Brom, no great shakes fighting for anything mid season.

Jose is a pantomine villain at worst. You called him a muppet and classless. That is a personal attack no matter what way you try to paint it. If we are speaking solely in the context of him as a manager surely you'd have to call him a genius?

Why release details of how much money we have just after a transfer window when we signed one slightly above average, aging, injured player?

And especially considering how poor the team has looked recently.

Also what really annoys me is that the £120m (that took us what 8 years to build up) can be blown out of the water on a whim by City, Chelsea and Utd.

being a good manager and being classless are not mutually exclusive. . .

To me he's a genius, to you he is a genius but to a genius he's no genius....

He sees where his teams are weakest and buys great players to fill the void. Something Wenger flat refuses to do.

To be fair I don't meant muppet in a derogatory form if you can accept that?

And yes I believe he is a classless manager given a lot of his actions and words as one.

A great manager, tactically one of the best I would say.

However one has to accept the outstanding resources he has had since Porto. You can't ignore that.

Easy for fickle fans to belittle no trophy in 8 years. Question and honest answer:

Do you think Mourinho could have achieved what Wenger has achieved at Arsenal since we made the stadium move for 8 years?

Secondly would he have stuck at it?

For example until we bought Ozil this year Cazorla/Arshavin was our most expensive player.

Ye guys bought Schurrle on a whim this year for 5 million more than that. Basically a squad player. We built our team around guys of 10-15 million.

Pighead's not a Chelsea fan. Dundalk fan here. Stephen Kenny is also a genius.

'However one has to accept the outstanding resources he has had since Porto. You can't ignore that.'

It is also true to say you can't ignore the Porto years.

I don't - I rate it as his greatest achievement.

    Isnt he a known spoofer?

From my perspective I'm looking for better than an injury prone 30 year old to lead our strike force next season. And that's before considering the traitor aspect.

Ya has a bad reputation for some deals I think. Hit and miss like them all.

Not in favour for practical terms - his age.

Might get slated but once he left he left and I felt it difficult to generate the same level of hatred other fans have for him.

Was too lazy to boo him at the game the other night too.

Wont happen and wouldnt want it to happen either. Had van Persie been willing to wait another year or two he would have been in an amazing position. But he was too impatient and too self absorbed to repay the faith we had shown in him. Would rather Adebayor back before van Persie.

Actually, if he'd be prepared to be a bench warmer as back up to our star man (whoever he may be ) that may be acceptable

its absolute lies, he has never got anything right. Said in the same podcast messi to psg :pac:

I'll take anyone back if they'll score a heap of goals. Problem with Van Persie is that his best days are nearly gone if not alread gone.

ETA: That's not bitterness talking either, a striker in his 30s is generally past his best.

Tancredi reporting Wenger met RvP's agent on the 28th of Jan in London? Funny that considering Wenger was in Southampton with the squad.

Ahh yes but I remember they were delayed into Southampton. Perhaps the meeting went on longer than expected in London ;)

Van Persie cost us two more points so!

Won't happen but not impossible. Probably much more realistic than a Cavani type signing.

i didn't see it but SSNews are no different to any other media - perhaps even worse - they're doing that to sell it/keep you watching. take it for what it is and don't get too sucked into it, that's my view of it anyway

if you judge mourinho as a manager there aren't too many sticks to beat him with.
his comments in the past have been personal and snipey but i'm sure you and everyone else knows someone who's like that especially when on the defensive. he was on the defensive today after wengers comments.
    - that's not defending him, it's just realising that just because he's a football manager he hasn't stopped being like a 'normal' person, people you know
