    Flagstaff, pretty mountain town
    Williams, historic train town
    Jerome, cool former ghost town
Winslow, bit of a dump with one of the greatest hotels in the US in it.
Tombstone, utterly amazing place. Walking into saloons that have barely changed since Wyatt Earp and Bat Masterson walked into them.

    and then there's Phoenix. :D

It's somewhere I wish I could have spent more time, I loved all the small Route 66 towns and the real Americana feel of it. Some absolutely stunning scenery too.

Arkansas and Iowa are definitely forgettable. And Michigan. I think of it as a lake and completely forget it is also a State. Utah wins though.

I've been to Detroit, the area around Ford Field is nice and the Ford museum is cool the rest is a hole though.

Don't certain Texans view themselves as being a separate country? :pac:
Nah they are just another state

I spent 3 months travelling in the US about 3 years ago and visited 27 states. I visited some great places but also some awfully boring places when I was there. The most boring one I've been to was Indiana. I spent a day in South Bend and I was gone. I'm sure there's more to Indiana than that but it was enough for me to move on.

Haha I actually have no proper informed opinion on which ones are actually forgettable or not, as the only ones I have been to are California and Hawaii, I am going by which names stick in your head due to songs, movies, major cities etc. Those of you who have actually been to these places have a real idea of whether or not they are in fact, forgettable. I wouldn't have a clue.

Idaho is another one you never hear much about. Next door to Wyoming I think.

They have a potato museum, I was there.

Minnesota has the Spam museum which is pretty cool

Missouri - "The Show Me State" (I love Kansas City)
Kansas - "The Sunflower State" - love being out on the prairies for that brief week or two when spring or fall comes in
Kentucky - "Unbridled Spirit" - The Old Bluegrass State
Iowa - "The Hawkeye State" - Heart of America

Ohio. The only thing I could tell you about is that Michael J Fox had a t-shirt that said Ohio during the opening credits of Family Ties.

Ohio has had more US presidents than any other state. Not that that means much.

There are a few obscure ones. And I'm guessing they're obscure for a reason. Probably a few hidden gems here and there though.

Two Americans who used to work with me here had lived in Montana for about 20 years after moving there from California for his job.

They didn't have many positive things to say about the place.
