    Explain ridiculousness of seatpost?

New track bike has one and it should work a damn site better than the current crop of slipping seatposts from Dolan (sorted now) and a few others:

It looks like it's trying (and failing) to eat the bike.

I meant when you're eating, but I'll apply it to road racing this year and see if I do any better.

Not sure if it applies, i'd be bias anyway. Got my Dolan Mythos back today from the LBS after some cosmetic surgery and a face lift. She's now running on ultegra 6800, mavic ksyrium sls wheelset, conti tyres, bbb carbon bars, alpina carbon seatpost and deda zero stem. Just have to get rid of that horribly uncomfortable san marco sadle and i will be happy with her.

    So long winded but...

My beloved Look 565 had a little mark on it. It looked like it might have been cracked behind the bb on the nondrive side, where the chainstay was lugged to the aluminium bb shell.

    1058185_10202547748111149_1630064814_n.jpg?oh=eba93203a4976b741d9ca499c92abdca&oe=52EDC654&__gda__=1391328400_0ae40084e6958e7f9f43c70223f0114a

I panicked, and remembered all the good times we had together. Races nearly won, climbs struggled up. I looked at this and cried a bit:

    230944.jpg

Partially because of how nice it was, partially because of that grip tape. But I thought she was done. Gone. Down and out.

I brought her to Look's agent, and they took it off me and said they'd take a look. I left, thinking the worst, and shared my story with my boss at work. He sympathised, and told me that I could use the bike to work and pick up a replacement as soon as I wanted. No questions asked. Off you go, he said.

    So I did.

Now, when I told my gf that my good bike was damaged, and I "had" to get a new one, she told me not to be sad. It would be like telling her she "had" to get new shoes. It was simply an excuse to do what I love.

I haven't collected it yet, but it's a TCR Composite 2, built with all my Ultegra and Scirocco's. Looks nice so far!

Then Look's agent got in touch. My Look frame is fine. They've had a few crack there, they said, but mine is just in the lacquer.

Now I have a spare Look 565... If my gf finds out I spent this much on a new bike unnecessarily, I fear some shoe shopping may ensue. Anyone want a cheap Look?!
