Looking for an easy knife cutting utensil

A friend of mine recently had an accident and has quite poor power in one of his hands. When eating he can grip a knife but not complete the necessary actions to cut the food. Is there any kind of gadget that can be held and it cuts through the food simply by placing it on the food source. So something that might burn…
