first time i seen these in the west so im just wondering ar they common enough to see as iv not seen them before i dont know.i done some research on them they are mostly native.just want to know are they worth stuffing i got a left and right so if their scarce enough i will.

Common enough to see on large lakes , hard enough to he at tho , there normally the ones in groups of about twenty way out in the middle of the lake .

Nice duck when stuffed tho so why not ?

If they bring back enjoyable memories of that day out then go ahead and get them mounted....doesn't matter if they're rare or not down there, as you won't be selling them.

Seen hundreds on the corrib years ago and shot two. Feck all meat on them.

From what I can remember,they are/were a sea duck, but during the big freeze of 1963 (River Shannon froze over in places here):eek: They came inland then from the cold and stayed and bred inland ever since. Supposed to be lovely to eat, ****ers for diving if wounded,drive a good retriever mad.
