No way! I think I figured out why he blacklisted me.

I knew I recognised his name - I noticed a while back this lad has been listing quite a few Gunforce 2 PCBs.

Gunforce 2 is a pretty rare game and worth quite a sum. I was going to buy one from him.

However, when I saw he'd sold quite a few in the last while and the eeprom stickers look a bit non descript, I sent him an email asking if they were originals or conversions. Never got a reply.

I see he's listed another one.

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Arcade-Pcb-board-GUN-FORCE-II-IREM-1994-JAMMA-board-/251436011978?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a8ac111ca

So they're either odd originals and I offended him or else they're conversions listed as originals and he doesn't want me fecking with his dodgy auctions.

Gunforce II is a two layer Irem M92 PCB , he sells a one layer boot, a non keyed jamma connector is usually a dead give away anyway .

The one in his photo is actually two layers, if you look at the second PCB photo you can see the other layer with all the rom chips.

I've done some comparisons between his board and other M92 boards, it's actually quite similar. I was thinking maybe it was some weird Korean variant or something?

Here's the rom side of a real Gunforce II (I think!)

    464008P1030288.jpg

They look fairly similar, few rom sockets on the real one missing from one in the auction. All the rest of the chips are fairly identical.

So I was thinking they're m92 conversions with reburned game roms (hence the white stickers over the eproms in the top pic)

Not a gaming get but cool,
Got Flatland this morning, a novel all about dimension written in the late 1800's, so its certainly retro!
Its lead A. Square goes on an adventure taking in Flatland, Line land and Point land, but there is also talk of a 3rd dimension, exciting stuff!

Also got it's recent sequel Flatterland which takes in the upper dimensions of string and M theory, so should be a fun read.

I need a break before diving back into Mid World!

Flatland is a fun read, was almost required reading among my class as a theoretical physics undergrad.

    Glad you got it sera!

It's not really a game, more like a simulation. You explore a house, with only a torch while things jump out at you. There's no weapons and no way to attack so if you die, it's game over.

Picked up a boxed Japanese copy of Wardner no Nori Special in the RAGE there for a tenner. Game any use? I just bought it because I liked the box art!

Wardner is a little hidden gem on the megadrive. Nice find. Looks like ass though but it's a lot of fun.
