sync contacts from windows to android

Just switched to an android phone and want to import my contacts. when given the option i use to save to google when adding a contact on my lumia,but how can i sync them up with my android phone? appreciate some help on this if anyone knows!

If you're contact are in your Google account, log into Gmail with that address to confirm they're all there.

If they are, when you sign into your new Android phone with that Google account, everything should be there.

I go from Windows Phones to iPhones to Android phones using my Gmail/Google account and all my contacts, etc follow me.
