sheep on herd number??

can you get sheep on a herd number. or do you need a different number for sheep and if so what are the regulations? thanks..

You'll need a flock register book.

Ring your local Dept office and they'll send you one. Then you can buy some sheep.

Ring your local Dept office and they'll send you one. Then you can buy some sheep.

Pretty much all you need to do. They might want some bit of a note just to have on file that you wanted to activate your herd number for sheep.

0 sheep are required as you need a herd number before you can get any. In terms of facilities you a pen to hold them and a shed if 1 is sick. So I imagine a pretty small basic shed will do. I don't think you would even need a crush for sheep although you will for cattle.
You will also need a minimum number of acres and I'm not sure what that is but I think no more than 5.
