Actually, I used play Angry Birds on Stonehenge.

Huzzah, two insanely long games I'll probably never have the time to complete :pac:

Have to say kudos to Amazon. My brother ordered a copy of Bravely Default as my Christmas present but it never arrived. He phoned up about it on Tuesday and a new copy was UPSed to the door this afternoon :) They might be a faceless corporation driving many small companies out of business with their aggressive tactics, but they're one consumer friendly company :pac:

I've found Amazon customer service to be probably the best I've ever seen, from any online faceless retailer. They're really, really good to deal with in the event of a problem

Yeah I order from them dozens of times every year and this is the first time there's a problem. Was super impressed at how quickly they handled it - we put in our phone number on their help page and they literally called back within seconds.

Ethically I do have concerns with them (and I've started ordering from different retailers when it is reasonable to do so, especially for DVD and BluRay), but for the end customer they offer a truly fantastic service at the right price. Shame the steps did need to be taken to get that right price :(

Oh, I did, cost 160, but it was barely used, codes unused, not updated either, so all good in the hood.
Just doing a system transfer now, going well.

The Pikachu one I got second hand had a pin on it but only just noticed there the other day. Can't get in contact with the previous owner to get the pin, so can't connect to the internet to download the patch for SMT Devil Survivor or do a system transfer from my normal sized Zelda one.
Going to have to ring Nintendo to get a master key.
    Pure balls.

thinking of getting this but there was a limited edition of this for sale on Shopto.net that sold out pretty fast. might pick it up on ebay etc.

Same with the new Zelda 3ds but that was only avaialable from game UK.

I just saw Bravely Default in a branch of Gamestop.
If it's really that good I might do some trading for it.
But then I have a fecking mountain of games to get through, even just the stuff I have gotten since the start of December last.

Actually, if you're selling any of those 2600 sticks {the type on the right}, I know a Cmod who's looking for one or two of them :D

Hard to see from the photo but a dog (or child) has chewed the handle a bit on it. Should be easy enough to pick these up I'd say. Thinking of converting one of the Speedkings to USB.

Picked up Super Smash Bros Brawl for €12 this afternoon.
I already owned it but someone fecked off with it....

If you can't pick a new one up, how about using some of that Suguru stuff and giving it a quick lick of colour matching paint and finish it off with a gloss sealant to match the finish of the stick?

Those sticks were awesome. I could only dream of owning one when I was a young pup. I did have this awesome bug thing though, I think called the Cheetah Bug? I had another one too called the Cruiser joystick. If I recall rightly it was microswitched. Not that I knew or cared at the time, all I cared about was the Cruiser stick helped me complete Hudson Hawk on the C64.

    TOP GAME THAT! :)

I think more people probably played the game than saw the film!

Speedkings, yes, a big deal at the time, but the Competition Pro was and is the best 80's stick of them all.

Well, it was the one I had for my Speccy and it worked great for the lifetime of the computer, rather than my mates who had QSII's that seemed to wilt, especially after Daley Thompsons Decathlon got to grips with them.

Amen. I've actually never seen the film. No idea why I bought it... at FULL PRICE TOO back then!

The C64 version is just utterly brilliant. That last level, in The Vatican, when you run down the corridor and see the great room open up with the final item to rob is just epic!

It's a seriously satisfying game, and a tough one to beat too, at least for me it was, which is why I always remember when I cleared the game straight through. :o

If you have access to a C64 or an emulator, give it a try, it's a great game.

As an aside, I wonder if Hudson Hawk is on Netflix? Might have to watch that this weekend...

Could never afford one of those 'microswitch' joysticks as a kid either so had to make due with poxy Quickshots.

Although being left handed the Speedking feels a bit wrong to me. Will fix them up anyway and stick them on adverts for €999 Super RARE *LOOK*.

The film was awful, it cost the studio a fortune.
I remember playing the game myself and it wasn't bad.
Did they not make a left handed Konix Speed king?

Darius Burst works great on the iPad. I love a good blast of it. If only I could find the soundtrack to the SP mode!

This stuff arrived today. Took long enough!

    Front Line (Famicom)
You'd probably class this as 'kusoge'. Personally I like it's utter simplicity, even if the game does undeniably suck balls. The box art is nice though!
    nel08ht26o7mtkzpz0ciasvh5.jpg

    Image Fight (Famicom)
Here's some trivia you may not know about Image Fight. See that blue bloke on the front cover? He's actually a commissioned portrait of Jason Donovan. Game folklore states that Jason was a big fan of Irem and that shortly before passing the baton of Jason in Jason & The Technicolour Dreamcoat to Phillip Schofield, Andrew Lloyd-Webber actually stumped up the cash to have the portrait done as a gift by renknowned in-house artist at Irem, Floella Benjamin.

Top game. Image Fight and Image Fight II, like the Darius series, is quickly taking over my life...

Family Tennis Advance (Game Boy Advance)
I've got a bug for tennis games recently, after the delights of World Court on the PC Engine. Time to take tennis on the move!

    Final Match Tennis (PC Engine)
After playing the wonderful World Court on the PC Engine, I set about finding more tennis games for the mighty NEC champion console. Final Match Tennis is reportedly THE tennis game to get, even outclassing some better known 16bit titles that would follow in years to come. Excited to play this tonight...!

Any chance you could give me the name of the album?

It's partially the Darius Burst AC album (not the original Darius Burst album). However there are extra arrangments not on that, they also do not appear on the Remix Wonderworld album (which incidentally is utterly incredible, buy it if you can along with the Darius Remix album which is just ball bouncingly awesome too).

The extra tracks I have on a digital compilation that were lifted from the game I think as there is no physical release yet (that I am aware of). I would assume Zuntata will issue a works disc soon though.

EDIT: Just had a thought, I have some Arcadia Darius Burst promo albums in the collection too, they might appear there. The SP soundtrack is rather spiffy I agree!

Feel free to spam this thread with all your iOS GETS!

Games are really getting neglected on my iPad Air, as im just blown away by the plethora of apps for music production, and would love some game recommendations.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 53,809 CMod ✭✭✭✭Retr0gamer

What I've found about iOS gaming from getting my iPad is that there's an awful lot of **** on there. By far the best game on it is Harry's Magic Tables which is great if you are struggling with your times tables. I'm also not saying that because I helped make it :P

Music games work well on it the best being Groovecoaster. Make sure you get the paid version and not the horrible freemium one. Pulse is also great.

Others to get are the Room, Year Walk, the Cave shooters, Darius Burst, the three Chaos Rings games, Final Fantasy Dimensions, SpaceInvaders Infinity Gene and Bean's Quest.

I'm enjoying a lot of visual novels on it. The first 5 episodes of the excellent Higurashi sound novel are on the store although if you want the full story you'll have the get the rest of PC.

I also really like Kira Kira, there's two visual novels by that name, the expensive one is the good one. Juniper's Knot is really good as well.

Just had a look at videos of groovecoaster there, both the trailer and gameplay videos and the tapping doesnt seem to be in sync un anyway with the music?

    Its a bit dissapointing.
