Could somebody tell me if the late 2009 mac mini can support either 64 bit Windows 7 or 8 using boot camp or a vm, preferably boot camp. I can't find a definitive answer, some say yes, others say no???

    Thanks.

The late 2009 Mac Mini sports an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU and can handle up to 8GB of RAM. The numbers suggest that it is a 64bit system thus capable of running Windows 64bit versions. But Apple say it won't !

This forum suggests it should work and some posters have done it. I think it might depend on the version of bootcamp you use ?

Hmmm... My version of boot camp is 3.2 as I use a 32bit XP. I suppose I'll never know unless I try.

Have a read through the thread I've linked to, some good info there on how to do it. Is there a particular reason you want to run 64bit Windows ?

I have office installed in XP and use access a lot on it, so I just use bootcamp to start XP when I turn on the mac. Since XP won't be supported after April (I think) I probably should start looking to upgrade. As for 64bit, there is 8GB RAM installed, so only using a 32bit copy of Windows is a bit of a waste.
