Just this one left. One clue - it's a French film.

I'll guess Au Revoir les Enfants? (although I haven't seen it for years)

Excellent. Well spotted and that completes the set.

Great shout, I've seen it about 5/6 times and I'd never have realised.

Thanks :P It was actually one of my favourite scenes in the film so I got it pretty quickly. I always liked the way that once he walked through that doorway he realised that his life as a wrestler was over and that he had to try to move on.

    Some clues:

3: James Bond & the Prime Minister

    4 & 8: Are both 70s movies from a particular well-known director

6: Surfing & Apocalypse Now are clues to this writer/director

7: Lead actress won an Oscar for this movie. Her male co-star also became an Oscar winner over a decade later

A few more clues to try and get rid of these:)

3: One of lead actors is Irish (really giving this away now!)

4 & 8: Both are from one of the most respected American Directors of his generation, and an Oscar winner (although it took some time for him to win one!). One of the actors (in this shot) in movie 8 is also one of the main stars in movie 4

Is 3 Layer Cake? I did think I posted that previously though?

On the phone and can barely see the pics!

Guessing the director is Scorsese then? Will have a proper look later

It's not Layer Cake. This movie was released 6 years later than that.

You have the correct Director for the others!
