And we are off in picks! MNG has gone and taken one of the 8 picks I wanted from ROH :( But I think one of my picks will definitely get through for me to take!

    I was not expecting Raven

How do I get on the reserve list?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 23,105 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

nope did not expect Raven this early myself either although I did kinda want him later... think just stating it here that youd like to be on the list should be enough to make you first reserve

Just stick your name down here

2 of the guys I thought would be in the first 3/4 are still left, real bargains if they slip much further

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,956 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

2 guys in front of me.

Reckon I can pick exactly who each will pick but would be thrilled with either of the two names I have written down, but will work out a third name now I guess...

EDIT: Made the mistake of researching. Now my list is 4 names long, and want all of them :P

Same! I am literally sitting here wracking my brains about it. I'll PM you and see if the names are the same :pac:

There's a few that I want but at number 19 I naturally don't expect to get them. Just gonna go with the flow I guess. When do people usually start working on the write ups?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,956 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

You got the two guys I had on my list.

But being honest, now I've had a think, there's one name I really want who I never had before. Just a case of will I be able to turn down one or two names to take him though. :pac:

Last year I had some ideas at this stage! but they were either interchangeable (ie anyone could fit into roles in those storyline) or based around people I thought nobody would pick at all.

Usually though ideas forumulate as I draft, for instance now im suddenly thinking of ideas for Bret and once I draft an opponent for him the outline for their storyline will begin to take shape in my mind then around rd10 (when the evaluation thread usually opens) I will just wing it will trying to put all these ideas down onto paper (or posts in this case).

I've had some mad storylines though, from giving certain wrestlers new gimmicks as massive racists, scripting drug problems or rape angles to the classic underdog stories and power struggles you name it its happened in the BWA.

Yeah I couldn't believe my luck tbh. My other choice should go in the next pick or two I think.

Are all the stipulations decided or could we PM a suggestion? I was swotting in the WWE encyclopedia earlier and thought of a doozy.

Maybe the max number of participants can be increased to 22 or 25 this year so more can compete if there is no objections, though obviously means less pick options as rounds progress but what do TPTB think?

Stips are great but I think you have to be careful to make sure they aren't too restrictive. Last year's first round stip was any wrestler born outside the USA, while this year it's the ROH one. Certainly it limits your choice but not to a point where a. If you draw a latter number it makes it more likely you will get someone who will detract from your draft or even worse b. It's impossible for all 20 to work within the stip.
