    2002 BMW 530d
    3.0 Diesel, automatic
127k Miles (seems a bit low?)
NCT 1/15, no tax (unfortunately :()
    €1850
Seems alright for the price and considering the test

Maxima in what looks like lovely condition. Not sure if it's a repost and it has a short test but still looks good to me :)

Did they do a 2 liter in the Maxima or has he fitted a Primera engine or something into it?

I see he's recently fitted a new engine into it. What do you make of that Zebra? Could that be a good thing or a bad thing?

the maxima must have been owned by a nissan nutter, 2 fairlady z's in the background as well as an old sunny or bluebird?

You have a keen eye for the background in pictures!

Michelin tyres too:) I would say it's a well sorted car, I hope whoever bought it realizes and keeps it that way!

A nutter in Meath if I'm not mistaken. Search maximas on dd and you'll find a lot

what are you getting at? Whatever DZ says will be just his own personal opinion. clearly a replacement engine can offer merits but also indicate a suspicious past. what more are you looking for?

If i was buying a maxima id get the older A32 '95-'00 with the 3.0 v6 engine.
just doesnt have the electrical problems the later generation has.
I had a '96 2.0l v6 QX before and found it a bitch to sell on (probably because it was snot green.. i mean forest green!)
not the nicest colour they came in but i loved mine!, questions asked when selling were is it the 3l? even some farming bozo's asking was she diesel with a tow hitch

I was impressed with the amount of comfort even as a bog standard low end 2.0 model, a proper bangernomics luxobarge in my opinion :D
ya wouldnt realise the speed your doing in them, solid in the corners yet soft over potholes, jaysus how i miss it so!!!

Id simply be judging the actual car on its actual merits, paying attention to how it drives (performance acceleration, starting from cold/hot, smoke etc)

And checking it out the same as any normal car - could just as easily to see any other car in done deal find that yes it has the original engine - but its at the end of its days.

Your taking a risk with anything at this price range :)

Just an answer! And he's given me one and I appreciate it.

Well the toyotas 4Age sounds miles better than most and are plenty of fun:cool: and the ae86 are a far better driving experience than most other cars of the day but cant touch a mk2 16v gti golf on the straights or in the bends either mate sorry.

Im speaking from years of experience here in my boyracer(on zee private roads:D) days never found any corolla could touch my stock golf.. only time I felt the fury of a Toyota it were a few tuned Glanza/GTs.

    Rant over:)

and your dead right about the Swift Gti16vs just like a tiny 4Age a mate had a black 93 with 4 branch and full system and sounded and revved out exactly like a 4age
    I sincerely doubt that tbh

I myself wouldn't touch a car with a second hand replacement engine. You never know what miles are on the replacement unit or how it was cared for.

I know the same can be said for a car with it's original engine but at least you will be able to get some idea from the cars condition as to how it was cared for Imo.
