If anything its more acceptable if the woman is older. Couger is a damn site better than Dirty Old Pervert.

I'd personally find it weird being older than a guy I was tipping.

I also hate it when my ex starts tipping someone younger than me, I'd be raging. If she was older I wouldn't care

Too young for what? It depends on the guy she's with. Plus there's nothing wrong with a cougar. They know all the tricks. ;)

I'm 30, my wife is 23. This is perfectly acceptable. My friend is 30, his girlfriend is 17. I'm not so sure about that.

Different with everyone really. Younger/older doesn't bother me at all when I like someone

Strawberry are you in your thirties or forties , . . .
30 guy 40 woman is fine
How about 25 guy 35 woman
    Or 20 guy 30 woman. . .
At different ages the gap probably is more obvious . . .

Wasn't this topic just covered again recently.

Anyhow, half your age, plus seven, is the usual accepted ratio. That only really applies until the age of thirty five though, then anyone over twenty five is fair game.

I've no problem dating women on either side of my age, though on reflection I've only dated older women so far.

Half your age plus 7. Always

All fine imo. Its when one is under 20 or the difference is over 10 that it may be seen a bit different. I'd say if both parties are over 30 it shouldnt matter though unless you're getting into old age where the problems will resurface. The problems being whether or not one is seen to be taking advantage of the other.

When we started going out, I was 32 and he was 23. Been together over 8 years now.

If you live your life worrying about what people see as acceptable then you will lead a boring life. Just do what feels right as long as it is legal!

Thats almost the same as myself and my fiance. I was 23 and she was 30 when we first met. Age is just a number :)

Don't think its as much about the age diff as it is about the life stage.

In school date someone in school, college college, work work, parent parent etc.

I did date up to 3 years older and 5 years younger. 5 yrs younger was a disaster as she was in college and really just wanted to live it up as you do in college. I was working and at this stage so a bit past this.

Biggest gap I've personally seen is he was 23 and she was 42. Knowing them both, I have absolutely no idea what they have to talk about

Actually at 15 it's a bit pointless. Half your age is 7.5 meaning that the youngest person you could go out with would be 14.5. A bit of common sense here please.

It's only really in adulthood when this rule comes into play. Like, if someone who is 30 started mounting people who are 21 I would be on to the authorities/village elders, as 22 is half their age plus 7.

If said 21 year old was to turn 22 BEFORE said 30 year old turned 31, then it is acceptable though.
