Library Problem!

    Hi,
I requested a book from stacks yesterday, which I collected from the BLU counter today. I was not allowed to take it out of the library and it was checked out on my account. I decided to photocopy pages from the book and when I was finished, without thinking, I left it on the book trolley without returning it using one of the self service machines! As I am due to return this book tonight, I don't know what to do! Is the book effectively 'lost' despite still been in the library, or is there somebody I could contact regarding this? Really don't want to end up with a huge fine! Thanks !

I imagine when the staff is sorting books back to their shelves in the morning, they will notice a Stacks code on the book and will check it out for you. I would assume so anyway. At most you will incur a fine for the one day it was overdue.

If this book isn't deleted from your account today then it could have gone missing. If that is the case then contact a member of Counter Staff in the Berkeley Library asap.
