144 km/h gust at Mace Head.

Violent storm force there. 6kt below hurricane force.

No downgrades for the northwest now. Please avoid the roads in coastal counties in the northwest if you can tonight.

The gaps between the gusts are getting longer.

Salthill: Just ventured onto the prom, never seen it so bad in 7 years of living here. Gigantic relentless waves washing up on the road, couldn't see a thing during my quick turn-around in my car. Mildly terrifying. Only other vehicle I saw was the novelty train, heading off down the prom, madness!

    ESB Networks ‏

Due to severe storm damage Nationwide we have no definite restoration times for most faults at this stage

And a lot more power lines will be down later tonight.

    That's what severe winds do..

This is a weather forum, I'm also subscribed to TVNs Tornado Chasers subscription and we get to see what is never otherwise broadcast. This year was an especially tragic year for deaths, veteran storm chasers and children drowned in a school basement as they sheltered.

The weather is amazing and so is it's destruction, not for the feint hearted and I don't cause the weather or contribute to ti just because I've a paid subscription to another forum with detailed graphic content.
