    Everyone going mental with hits.

Just for those of you who care and those who don't already know next weeks results will determine whether or not you are entered into the FPL cup, the top 2million players get in, it's only a bit of fun but nice to be involved anyway. An Irish player(with a foreign sounding name) got to the final last year with a very average team.

    Yourself??
I'm forced into a 4 point hit but am considering 8 for only the second time ever, this may save me from taking the extra 4 the following week but something else will probably force my hand then!

I was already starting to feel like my team needed construction before the injuries to Koscielny and Aguero. Couple those with my disastrous GW and I may have knee-jerked a little. I channeled FutureGuy and took a 16 pointer, turning this:

Madness? Possibly. But I think I'm pretty well set up for the hectic Christmas period now. If ever there was a time that justified hits, it's now IMO. Out of all of those the only transfer I'm not sure about is Ozil to Walcott, but had to do it to fund the more necessary moves.

I'm being well behaved so far :D May end up going with a -4 to bring in Silva.. :) Assuming I don't need to fix my defence soon :p

Dawson seems set to drop this week, but I can afford 0.1 before he needs to go.. I may even end up keeping him with AVB gone..

Clyne dropping but I can afford 0.1 drop on him before he needs to go.. Should be grand.. I can afford a 0.1 drop on Vlaar as well

If Liverpool didn't have Chelsea and City away after Cardiff I might have begun considering Henderson....Sterling could well be an option at 4.9 for some while Gerrard is out, although up against Naughton yesterday may have seen him flattering to deceive.

I got final 128 or 64 the year before last iirc. Pot luck although it's good fun, can affect your team selection though. I've gone out on a draw the last two years running!

I think taking hits can too easily be justified (to yourself!) - i used to do it regularly, but have given it up this year, apart from one 4-point hit, because i couldn't field 11 fit players - with the Jan WC around the corner, barring disaster i don't intend taking any more hits.

Think you could definitely have phased some of them transfers in over the next week or 2 with your free transfers.

Might consider a 4 point hit to get rid of Terry but that's it - still inherently disagree with points hits every week. Sometimes they can work out but the end doesn't justify the means in isolation, you should be able to phase in transfers rather than knee-jerking and getting the likes of Navas/Flanagan etc. I've taken 7 4 pointers so far this season which is unusually high for me, and I'm actually doing worse than the previous two seasons.

No hit last week so I treated myself to an 8 pointer this week.

Hoping that I now have a (positive) differential in Midfield.
I needed, and wanted, to do something different as I've been floating around the 400k mark for 5-6 weeks now.

    Aguero -> Chamakh (that's worth a :D)
    Lampard -> Walcott
    Morrison -> Silva

Have 2.1 in the bank and that will probably go towards Bannans 4.4....and a potential upgrade to Fer, Osman or Paulinho (if he falls enough) next week.
I'll be limiting it to a straight swap if at all possible.

Chamakh has 23 points from the last 3 games lads... lump on him :D

Think I've decided to go for the Ozil/Walcott double act which would mean taking Negredo over Rooney and also selling Ramsey. While I'd like Rooney, I've a feeling the Ozil/Walcott combination could be lethal and prove better than a Walcott/Ramsey combination.

Yaya is going to be on penalties for the next month now too :(

Yeah that's an excellent point. I hate Yaya. And Coleman.

I have no City coverage this week unless i go into the GW -8 and i aint sure thats worth it....

I am just going to hide when the play Fulham i think!

I was wondering if there's any chance of Pellegrini giving it to Negredo for the next while as a show of confidence in his new main man?

What do I care really, I've made my bed.

The Aguero -> Negredo was a big decision for me to turn down, I think he'll be miles ahead of Rooney in points for Dec/Jan.
Really scared of what he'll do over the next while.

    possibly looking at:

    Kos to Ward
    Ozil to Theo
    Morrision to YaYa
    Augero to Negredo

    over 2 weeks, will be 2 x 4 pt hits........worth it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,700 ✭✭✭Danger781

I don't hate Yaya because he keeps scoring. I hate Yaya because he costs too much now and I've already missed most of that bandwagon.

    Have you decided against Negredo?

I think I'm going to stick with Rooney. He played deep yesterday but watching the highlights he still had a couple of chances.

I'm more afraid of what United will do to West Ham at Old Trafford tbh rather than City away to Fulham. City have been poor away. My long term plan is to get Silva in as my City cover.

I'm not yet sure if I'll go for a hit. I'm trying to avoid it tbh but I'm not too happy about having to field either Morrisson or Brady. Turner away to Liverpool or Terry away to Arsenal aren't really options either.

    Kun out Rooney in.
    Boruc out Mig in.

Planning on keeping Szczesny as my keeper for the season but not having a back up has been biting me in the ass.

I swore I would not take a hit this week.
I had both hazard and oscar in last week for place game. Wanted to see which of silva or Walcott I would move one of them on for ......now aguero is gone.......don't really fancy having both of them .....can't decide which one to lose......and who to get in now that I'm flush with Cash :D
Yaya is very very tempting .....

Mig in? Have you checked the fixtures. I'm looking at taking him out after this GW.

Liverpool play Cardiff home and then City and Chelsea away.

This Aguerro injury has troubled me. I'm in a private league that ends after week 19. Currently I'm 25 points behind the leader, who has Rooney. We both have Suarez and Lukaku

There's no gain to me if I get Rooney (plus I support Liverpool)!

My options are, as I see it, get Negredo, or get a premium midfielder like Ozil, unless I'm missing something?

I've 3 weeks to make up 25 points so not keen on taking a hit. Used my wildcard last week. Sods law it comes back to haunt me!

Not sure about Ozil - he started very well but has looked out of sorts in recent weeks. That said he's generally good for an assist on a regular basis with the odd goal chipped in. Arsenal look leggy though so he's likely to be in and out over the Christmas period.
I'll be going with Negredo also.

Went for Rooney as he will play all the games, set pieces and penalties as well, Negredo was an option but as a means of getting a top mid in which i thought wasn't important enough to take a hit for.
Also it will be easier get Kun back if needed, far too likely to spend the extra cash if i got Negredo in.
Rooney,Olsson in----Aguero,Terry out, just glad to be rid of the cash cow Terry.

Terry away to Arsenal could end in disaster as they will pass and move around him, potential red card if you ask me given how slow he is gone. I have shipped him and glad to have even if it meant a hit.
    SELL SELL SELL!!!!

I'll only have him in this week for the Cardiff match then he's back to the bench. Arsenal have Chelsea this week so needed someone to sub out Szczesny for!

Is there any word on how long Clyne will be out for?

Anyway, Aguero out tonight, still flipping in my head to go for Rooney or Negredo, leaning towards Negredo atm.

to take a 4 point hit and get rid of Lallana and Aguero for Rooney and Silva.

or to just do Aguero ----> Negredo.

i need City coverage is the problem, but i don't know if i need Utd.

United have easier fixtures. That sealed it for me. City have Fulham away and then Liverpool home.

Anyone bringing Silva in not worried about the 4 yellow cards he's sitting on?

I kinda want to upgrade Nasri to him. He's just not involved enough in the big city wins in terms of fpl points whereas Silva is constantly threading balls through and seems to be shooting more this year. Unfortunately Pellegrini has him tracking back more and tackling. But he can't tackle and often gives away frees. I fear another yellow before the new year.
