Careful now.... you could have made your point without casting my Ozil in a bad light :D

Ozil is a super player and some of his assists are fabulous, his ball for Ramsey against Cardiff last week for example. But I think that in the long run he will lose out in this debate as I often see him as an assist the assister type of player, the guy who will open up a defence for someone to play the easy final ball, particularly when Walcott is getting proper gametime.

Hoping for a 1-1 draw tonight with Brady having nothing to do with anything...

Managed to drop to 78k last night despite bagging 10 points. Damn Ozil. Will definitely drop a bit tonight after subs come in.

I wouldn't be too afraid of that, I am sure he will "assist the assitster" :D loads this season, but I can still see him playing the final ball plenty, I don't see his return slipping much with Walcotts return, if anything I think he has another option to give him an assist.

Looking back to his Madrid stats, he had 19,20,16 assists in his 3 seasons there. While Madrid may have scored more goals in those seasons than Arsenal may this year (not sure on stats there), if that's the case, the fact that he's not getting subbed off after 60 mins like his Madrid days should balance it up.

I had that concern (assist the assister) at the start, it's not playing on my mind anymore and Wlacott return is a good thing in my mind.

Ozil leads the league for assists despite only being signed in gw4. He had 44 assists for real last season.

    You are talking arse

Not sure who you are or what I've done to upset you but I think I'm right in saying that that's the second time in a couple of days that you've tried to belittle me, I'm not talking arse, I'm giving my opinion, you are welcome to your own.

I think his 173 (94 in league competitions ) assists over the past 5.5 seasons safely disproves this theory.

44 assists.... 24 in all comps I make it.

I can see Swipers point and it's far from talking arse in fairness, as an Ozil owner and massive fan of him, I am prepared to be frustrated by him playing a big part in most Arsenal goals but he'll miss out on FF points in a lot of those.
He's that good that I can see him being involved in most Arsenal goals, not always getting either an assist or a goal, but that said, I'd expect him to push 20 assists and 10 goals (probably just shy of both)

With all the Ozil talk going on at the moment which midfield of the two below do you think is the strongest?

Option (1) - Ramsey, YaYa, Walcott, Hazard (Jedinak)
Option (2) - Ozil, Walcott, Hazard, Lallana (Jedinak)

Putting my bias asid (if that's possible :( ) , I do feel Option 2 is slightly stronger.
It's a close one, the only differences are
Ozil & Lallana : 152 points to date
Ramsey & Yaya : 172 points to date

You could make a case that Ozil would have closed that gap considerably if he was around for the first 3 games of the season.
So to date, I don't think there's much in it.

Looking ahead, as long as SOU aren't the next team to capitulate from a good start and fall to pieces, (which I don't see happening at all).... then I think it's Ozil & Lallana.

I may be wrong, but through various injuries etc, I don't think Ramsey has played with Ozil, Walcott, Santi and Giroud all ahead of him yet?
The bugger will still score well, but I think his return will ease off, if those 4 are consistently playing ahead of him his chances will be reduced (slightly, but enough to make a difference)

Thanks. That's what I wanted to hear. I too think that the Ozil/Lallana combination will be better. Ramsey will not keep returning points at the rate he has done. Ozil will only get stronger imo. Lallana can be upgraded because I'll have 0.7 or so left in the bank.
Next week its Terry out and the week or fortnight after it'll be Ramsey - Ozil.
Ramsey will have lasted just 2 or 3 weeks in my team. Bad move bringing him in.

That's a given that he should have been brought in earlier. But if I had analysed everything correctly on Friday night last I'd never have brought him in. Terrible terrible move to add to my growing list of terrible decisions this season.

My apologies if any offence was caused. It was not intended. I am not intending to belittle you, I just think that FF and football is passionate and half and addiction so one tends to make these statments.

This formum is for fellow addicts to support each other through the addiction and should be supportive so a big hug, and group hug.

If we disagree, fantastic. Otherwise we'd have the same team and the same scores and how dull would that be. Ozi is my love child. I have renamed my team "The Ozil California" as a result. He reminds me of FF- You can check out anytime you like but you can never leave,

So don't be so sensitive. I'll try to throw some smiley faces in there next time but if you think that Ozil is assisting the assiter, well Sir, Statistics disagree.

Just because Swiper disagrees with you means he is "talking arse"?

Fair enough if you don't agree with another poster, but to belittle them is way over the top.

I'm going to respond to this against my better judgment.

    1. I apologised.
    2. It is not a thing to do with you. Why are you jumping in here. Seriously? Are you the internet police? There are mods. If you have a problem please report the post.
    3. Telling someone they are talking arse is not "belittling him". He is the same size, if people are taking things on internet forums to heart, well, I think they are in for a very bruised life.
    4. I will not be responding to you or to anyone else in any way on the subject. If he still feels aggrieved hit the report button.
    5. Have a nice day.

Statistics would disagree with me certainly up to a point, but I have doubts about the 44 assists last season that you mentioned. I think Ozil is an absolutely outrageous player, certainly one of the very best in the league, my concerns are purely FPL related, is he worth over 10m, I'm not so sure but most who have him will certainly disagree. What has surprised me most is his goals this year, he has generally scored about one in six games throughout his career, for me that wouldn't merit a 10.3 price tag unless he was making at least 25 league assists, but he's upped his goalscoring ratio with Arsenal big time, at the moment he's doing great but they have a lot of very hard games to come, lets wait and see. I'll be resisting the urge to bring him in for the moment anyway.

You see I have this vision in my head of Ozil putting Walcott in the clear regularly, Walcott taking it into the box and squaring for the runner(Giroud or Ramsey), I can't let it go:p

Sorry, I didn't see this post when I was composing my last one. I wouldn't have taken a bit of notice of the talking arse comment if it hadn't been for the "hugs" thing you put into that response the other day to my Paulinho post, that kind of annoyed me to be honest, It's not that I'm too sensitive I hope, that seemed a little bit superior is all. Let's leave it there.

Apologies. He has 42 Assists for Real in his last two seasons.

He has upped his goals alright- but you have to think he is getting more game time and is an improving player in a team with a style better suited to his talents. Real are a much more direct team.

I think he's cheap at the price he is at tbh. No threat of rotation bar fatigue compared to city and chelsea who will rotate a lot at christmas and could field two teams.

Lads this is not the Soccer forum. Please feel free to argue against a point but I have no time for this type of comment.

Swiper has a valid point. Even if it wasn't valid, it's still his opinion.

Huddlestone is one to watch tonight, he's had the most shots without a goal this year, many of them obviously have been long rangers but he has an incredible strike of a ball sometimes, without Brady he is likely to be on more set pieces, he's a player who has the potential to deliver more than enough points to justify a 4.9m IMO.

THud to do the business tonight, you heard it here first;)
