Id expect that theres a fairly decent chance of getting the 02 Saab for 2 grand yes.

Seller would want to be a bit daft imo to completely reject an offer of exactly 2 grand from someone whose serious about buying and wants to buy it right now if the seller was willing to do a deal at 2 grand.

The reality is that id say the market for a Saab 9 5 would be pretty small - so any seller with any bit of cop on at all should be happy with a genuine offer of bang on 2,000.

Reality is that a big 2.0/2.3 type car is not very popular in the first place and the fact that Saab went belly up (the new lot making them are a completely different company - if im not mistaken - which is very possible) would be a deal breaker for many.

And a BMW 5 series E39 would be very tempting for many people who would be inclined to buy an 11 year old big executive saloon

In saying that however - if I particularly liked the car and was genuine about buying it - then assuming it was a decent example etc - I wouldn't walk away over 100 euro if the seller was willing to settle for 2,100.

Unless I thought id find a better one elsewhere or a better priced example - in which case I wouldn't be making the offer for 2 grand in the first place

You, Sir, are very ill. Call an ambulance immediately and tell them you need to go to "the" hospital in Dundrum. They'll know what you mean.

Nice looking Diesel V70 with nice spec and some service history. I just can't believe that the design is nearly 14 years old.

Very optimistic price though IMO, 230k on her as well even if it does have a nice spec.
I imagine he will be waiting a while with that price.
Still, those engines are supposed to be very good

Roll up with 500e, tax her for 3 months and then sell it on again for 600e before the NCT is up.
155 bhp too with a decent spec ;)

Yeah the D5 engine is a peach. The mothers Volvo has it and its so smooth and it doesn't half shift for such a big car.

It's only 130BHP, that's pretty poor for a 2.4 liter 5 cylinder of that era (it's taxed as a 2.5, so even worse again)

If you want a V70, the 2l petrol is a far better choice for your motor tax dollars :D

That's poor. The AEL tdi in the previous model had 138hp. Easily remapped to 150 - 170.

Much prefer the looks of them v40's and V70's , not sure what the remap potential of the D5 is like though.

    Open to correction - but isn't the D5 a 163 in euro 3 form????

Looks to be 168ps for the AWD and 130 otherwise.

No worries - knew there was a 163 version - and from reading up Uk forums was always under the impression that all the Euro 3s were 163s.

Which to be fair - they may have been in the UK.

Not sure. It seems to be only the remap in the difference between the 130 and 168.

    Interesting :)

I dunno what it is, but I much prefer the pre-facelift E39.

The one above is still a smashing car for the money nevertheless.
