    any reviews of this?
I'm looking for a tablet just for FilmOn / Netflix and basic web browsing instead of my iphone.
Will this do the job ok?

A 7" screen is a bit small for a tablet in fairness. The specs sound just about ok but then again it doesn't state what cpu its running or what type of screen it is.
Only good point is the 3 year Guarantee which no doubt you`ll be using (make sure to keep the receipt)

7" is fairly standard in recent times to be fair....The google nexus, the galaxy tab, the ipad mini...
My only concern would be the type of processor but its still a quad core.

    Subjective.

Battery life seems to be the biggest drawback with cheaper tablets, no info on it though on the listing

7" is perfect IMO, anything bigger and I just prefer to use the laptop then. Google Nexus 7 is one of the most popular out there and it is a 7 " tablet.

Screen resolution ain't great by today's standards. Bezel looks huge compared to the area of the screen

    Aldi 7" tab 1,024 x 600 pixels

    Nexus 7 (2012) 1280×800
    Nexus 7 (2013) 1920×1200

I wish 8" was standard size, been looking for 8-10" for ages passing up bargain 7" tablets over and over again because its too small.

    True but a Nexus 7 doesn't cost 99 euro.

You are comparing apples to oranges. If you want to give examples of better tablets, at least make sure that they are in the same price range.

It's actually a better spec than many other generic 7" tablets doing the rounds this Xmas in B&M stores. Most only have 512mb of ram with 4 gig of storage & this has 1gig ram with 8 gig storage.

If you avoid comparing it against the big boys then it's pretty decent.

4 hour battery life. if you can get over that its looks like a great tablet.

There is one on the website for next Monday, but it's the Goclever.

Doesn't look much good (especially if it's the one that was around last Christmas).

In my opinion you are better off paying a extra 80 Eur and getting a google nexus or amazon fire.
Im in the market for my first tablet my myself, and while i love a bargain i prefer to spend the money on something decent when it is only a extra few quid.

Agreed, but that's for one of the many "recommend me a tablet for €200" threads in the android forum

Almost double? That's not in the same bracket at all. In fact, if you're going to spend €180 you may as well push for the new Nexus @ €235 ish?

    From the Aldi Ad:
    17.8cm/7" Tablet PC
    MEDION® LIFETAB® E7316 (MD 98282)

Does it have a 3 year warranty? That would pretty much clinch it for me.

Same with the iPad mini. More than suitable.

    Hey lads,
How easy will it be to get one of these on Sunday do you reckon? Will I need to queue outside in the morning before Aldi opens?

    Cheers,
    M

The Galaxy tab 3 is 99 sterling as it's automatic £20 off for Samsung products

That said that aldi one looks very good for the price.
