Is there any home automation commands with the GSM-Q for heating etc. I'm sure I read somewhere you could text your heating to come on for an hour

There is only two in the main control panel. If you could live with using 4 outputs then a zone expander would give you the option to add extra wired zones plus another 2 outputs. Other than that you are looking at buying a 8 output card.
