For me this might be one kick in the b**ls too many from the PSNI for me.

I will be 33 before the year is out and I need to move on.

Just logged on to see how you were all doing as it's nearly he 28th and wowsa, it's gone bananas here.

To all those who have passed, congratulations and well done.

To those who sadly didn't make it, I really feel for you. If at first you don't succeed, try try again. I went through the college with a guy who got in on his 9th attempt.

The Initial Selection Test is designed to be tough, it's a way to whittle several thousands down to a more manageable level for the AC. For those who have sat it this time for the first and not been successful, know that you will know what to expect the next time.

You have to be able to work under pressured conditions, all through the college you will have exams and assessments so get used to it! Even when you graduate it doesn't stop there!

Best of luck to those now through to the AC.
Please please, do not post locations, dates etc. Think security at all times.

33? You're just a youngster. Of the four squads in the college when I went
through trainees ranged from 19 to 54.

Cheers. Just feels like its not to be. It would be my 7th shot next time and I dont think I could take any more heartbreak lol.

Sorry to hear that. I just missed the mark also.

Genuinely sorry to hear some of you didn't get through, I have missed out by a singlemark on 2 previous occasions so I know how it feels.

    Thats me failed too.

Thought I'd gagged it on the day and I was right. The weeks of successfully passing mock exams counted for nothing.

Gutting thing is that this is the 1st exam I've ever failed my whole life.

From reading the above comments from Gee I'm in the same boat with PSNI recruitment. I'm now in my early 30's and cant put my life on hold till 2015/16 before my next chance. For various reasons it was now or never for me getting in through this route.

My last and final option is applying to Police Scotland, doing a few years there and trying to get a transfer sometime in the future.

    Congrats to those that passed.

    Commiserations to those that failed.

Well I crashed my IST, did well for both but my panic at data made me fail.

Life moves on, more opportunity out there to be grabbed. I wish the rest of you luck in the AC! Some very good people here that I'm sure will go far in the service!

    Goodbye and goodnight lads/ladies

Hard to see how much some people wanted this. If it's any consolation I'm certainly not taking anything for granted and I think there are a lot of intelligent people on here who just didn't do their best on the day. My track record with exams with written exams is not fantastic and luckily things came together for me on the day.

There's a very long hard road ahead. This is really only the first hurdle and although we're all keen to get excited (including myself) some of us will be on the disappointing end of an assessment centre e-mail in the not so distant future.

I honestly believe that the people who really want the career (or anything else) will achieve it if they try hard enough. I'd say try not to be disheartened and persevere.

Sorry for a bit of a 'Jerry's final thought' moment there.

What a difference a day makes in here! Is there anyone still waiting for results?

Sorry to hear about so many boards people not making it. Keep in mind previous years when the mark has been lowered, no doubt many will fall down at the ICT hurdle before making it in to the AC. Then there is the fitness!!

I think there are a right few people chancing their arm in relation to qualifications which is unfair to those who actually meet the criteria and miss out marginally in the IST.

I have a degree of sympathy for those who have been duped by the scam websites for the it qual, but not much for those who are completely winging it.

I think they have been fairly clear about the IT qual since the revised candidate information was released.

I completely agree, I am sitting with all the relevant qualifications and more, as I am sure a lot of others who are in the same position are, I went and did the IT qual when it was first announced to make sure I wasn't running round at the last minute (even though I had another IT qual that may have been accepted but wasn't on the list). So frustrating to think that some people don't have the minimum requirements and have passed the IST and so many, including myself, have failed by 1 mark

Since I'm known for my pictures, here we go.

To all those that didn't pass the IST, including myself. Just move on to the next campaign! Never let go of your dream. Thats goes for even those going through to the next stage.

Again for those that would be interested and in a position to move to the republic, The Gardai are rumoured to be opening applications over the next few weeks!

Just something to keep in mind ! :)

Don't lose hope just yet. They may still have to drop it by a point again this year.

I think I need to put it out of my mind or I'll drive myself crazy. If it happens, it happens but if not I am fortunate that I am in a job quite similar in a lot of ways that I do enjoy, it just falls a bit short of the dream job

You're right not to put much hope in it, but I would not be surprised if it's lower to 50.

Still blows me out if the water but there may be hope there for you.

Gutted for you, after getting so far before it must be devastating

Unfortunately 'fairly clear' isn't clear enough around some of the qualifications :(

For those gutted about your results, use that damn feeling inside of you right now. Take that feeling of disappointment and pain, maybe even anger and USE IT! Take that emotion and use it right now to look at more options, more recruitment campaigns, more choices in life! There is so much fruit to pick right now, ok maybe you didn't get the golden apple. But focus this failure and turn it into a motivation to succeed.

Everyone here has the ability to succeed, what makes winners and losers is if you choice what side you are on. As the great philosopher Confucius once said "He who says he can and he who says he can't are both usually right"

Pick yourselves up and go out there and get what you damn well desire!
