Seriously tempted by a TT 300zx/RX-7(may not fit in it) for next year and buying a diesel daily driver like a diesel Alfa 156/early 159

Am i cracked or just bored ?:p

Diesel 156. Bear1 had 250k miles before sending his to the scrap yard and has been regretting it ever since. And the 2.4 is easily re mappable over 200

To afford tax on a 2.4 you would need to be getting classic insurance and maybe converting a 300zx to commercial to make it affordable

Comfortwagon alfa diesel and a pure japanese 90's top tier sportscar

Nah the daily has to be decent and comfortable with abit of poke to make the plan viable (+ i don't need a "lolz learn me to manual transmission" car)

I don't do big miles but would love a top end japanese car i adored as a teenager for meets/weekend lolz and a daily driver that i could honestly live with for under 2 grand

    Question for ya'll.

Anyone know what the little sinister V symbol is on this road sign? It's been bugging me for years.

Old tourist board logo from 1960s/1970s and before.

Ah, interesting! Any info on it online, I cant see anything.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 634 ✭✭✭cabb8ge

I don't know, it make no sense to me as no V in name of the board, I asked in bar in Dingle that had some similar signs as ornaments, no other info, sorry.

The 2.3 bucket its in isnt that much! Also the car is dirt cheap. Not sure on the Classic tax.. that clearly isn't going to happen on a 2.4JTD 156? But its not in any sort of extreme insurance band or anything.

Classic for the old Japanese cars, I presumed. :p

Can anyone suggest a good set of wipers? Need to get a new set for the front of the Yaris for the Winter.

Meant more along the lines of classic insurance on the 300 as you don't get to use your no claims bonus on a 2nd car and convert to commercial to kill the 1800 quid tax (lol the look on peoples faces as you pull into a doe centre) so the main cost would be the tax on the alfa really.

    Tempting

I have Bosch aero twins and find them good. I also heard trico are supposed to be good but I've never actually used them myself.

    I like Trico, they're good.

Right, anyone want to guess my new temporary wheels? It has an engine design older than most people here...
