Similar scenario here, and for various reasons I really needed to do it this time.

Try again you say, but when? - got to be late 2015, maybe 2016.

    Long time to wait.

If I dont make it, I will probably apply for a Mainland force and try and get a PSNI transfer at some point.

I dont want to be waiting till the 28th for what looks like a no.

Are you almost 55 or something. Try to relax and see why your result actually is before giving up!

Hi, congrats to those who have passes thus far...

I have also got pass email today and had a couple of questions.

Email mentions not being exempt from providing prove of requisite 5 GCSE's even if you have higher quals? I have 4 at that level, although have btec OND, and honours degree, a couple of units in NVQ 2. Am I interpreting this correct? If I can't provide evidence of having 5 gcses (or equiv) at a-c, regardless of overall academic achievement, then I won't progress?

    Many thanks...

Based on the text in the email it appears that way unfortunately.

Turn up and see what happens :)

The way i read it along the lines if you have higher quals than the GCSE 's but don't have the GCSE's you still have to provide evidence. I am in this boat with GNVQ's, HNC, BSc and masters. Sure what can they say but only no and i ain't gonna accept an easy no at this stage.

5 or more GCSEs (or equivalent) at A*-C grade, including Maths and English Language. (You must supply evidence of your having the requisite number of GCSEs or equivalent, and note that by having achieved A-levels or a higher level qualification, without the requisite GCSEs, does not exempt you from having to provide evidence of having the requisite GCSEs).

Yeah true, but I'm thinking everyone who's through finds out first and those that haven't been successful last, not hearing of anyone failing is kinda worrying me lol, I'm gonna try and clock off and if I hear any more Info tonight I'll post the results yay or nay, this is gonna be fun trying to get to sleep tonight not knowing lol

Yeh you have to figure people who failed might not rush to post it online. I think you'll be ok Highbury.

Mulling this over too... I've sent an email off asking for a bit of clarification, it could be that it means A levels are 1 qualification instead of multiple GCSEs as some are counting them, or to make sure there's 5 different subjects at GSCE level & up

    I don't know :) any info I get I'll post here too

    No, but circumstances are everything.

Also, I'm not in any of the target demographics and another 2/3 years wont help my chances in any way.

No word tomorrow will spell doom I'd suggest.

Good Luck to those still waiting.

    Congrats to those that passed.

I won't be home to check my Email until around 8PM tomorrow. It's going to be a long and tense day.

check on down the bottom of the email, there is a table which states what they will accept as equivalent to gcses, there is quite a bit on there think i'm gonna be ok.

The bit that's confusing to me is the fact that the table is headed Minimum Education Qualifications. Surely an LLB would count as one of the 5...

    Oh the stress lol!

They mustn't be doing the dates based on the scores then which removed that theory. Well done on passing!

Apologies in that case Goonerdee lol
