Was interesting the way a lot of them seem to think favourites are being given special treatment, bad form if that is the case.
Anyone left in the show should get an equal amount of focus.

Wotten seemed to have a bad attitude going into the fight, think he just wanted to be going home and didnt care whether he won or lost. Holdsworth looked good though but Grant will be very tough to beat.

    'Heel' turn for Tate :D
    !

Strategic early editing gets the masses against Rousey & shouting for the underdog Tate but Rousey's nasty side not shown in last 2 episodes....

Setting us up nicely now for the horrendous/ despickable favouritism shown by Tate for her friend....

Just in time for the return of the golden girl Rousey to put manners on this unprofessional, cheating, inconsiderate (etc. etc.) Tate

Well played.... ( claps hands slowly) Straight out of the WWE (Give her a chair!!)

I could be wrong though, meh!

Better double turn than Hart and Austin at Wrestlemania 13

I wonder if the week off was to re-edit the show as Rousey probably threatened to sue? Maybe I just like a good conspirasy!

Happy to see Julianna win, couldnt take to Sarah at all.

She just totally dominated her, other fight is very hard to call, will be a good finale either way.

Grant is going to murder Guttierez next week I reckon.

Seems to be some big drama looking at the preview for next week, I think another fighter misses weight and Dana goes spare.

    Leaked online on another forum:

When Dana said ''This has never happened, ever, in the history of The Ultimate Fighter''......

Apparently he was referring to the fact that no-one cries......... for a full episode. I'm sceptical myself but it has to happen sooner or later.

Drug test? I'm not an expert on TUF (last year Jones vs Sonnen was first I had ever seen.) are TUF participants even scheduled for any drug testing before the fights?

really liking Roxanne, she just seems so genuine and always upbeat, a few could take a leaf out of her book

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,452 ✭✭✭sonic85

not much applause at the end of the fight - the rest of the house must really hate her.

not a good episode overall but im looking forward to next week - should be a decent fight

Agreed. She's been like that since the start. Very nice person.

Im surprised it wasnt the arrogant opponent they disliked even more. Embarrassing to break down like that just because she perceived Rhonda to be doing more with the other one. Probably the cringiest, whineiest episode ive seen.

I was impressed with Juliano or whatever she's called, she's a wreck the head but she hits like a truck and never gives up and the other won was even more annoying and arrogant so ... anyway Dana's crush won so he'll be pleased

ROFL. Just wasted 40 mins of my life.

They really should have edited that into next weeks episode and just made the whole series one episode shorter. Can't see why they named the episode one punch? Kept thinking he might make weight and it was going to be an incredibly short fight...

Poor Davy looked like he was going to kill him at the end. A shame too as I was looking forward to seeing him fight again.

+1. May or may not be the best but is certainly by far the most entertaining male fighter from what we have seen of him.

Is that 3 episodes with no new fights. 2 can't make weight and 1 recap. After the first time should of having a losing fighter cut weight also just in case.
Really stupid not making weight when he never fought in the house

Hilarious stuff, I wonder if the finale will have someone missing weight too?

Apparently rousey went through with the cut she was talking about at the end of the programme. something like 16 pounds over night, just to show her team it was possible. she was already a good bit into the cut when she did the judges challange and still managed to beat tate.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,459 ✭✭✭califano

Ah they could have just agreed to fight at a catch weight or something just so long as he didnt weigh more than his original weigh in weight on the morning of the fight.

For good measure put into his contract that if he beat Grant and won the finale(unlikely on both scores) the ufc owned him forever and 25% of his first 7 fights(if he ever fought 7) incl bonuses got kicked back to Grant. And if any of the 2 finalists got injured in the meantime Grant gets the automatic place.

And wtf is grant getting all weepy about, he's through to the final without a glove laid on him without risk of injury. That's akin to winning the lottery on a quick pick and weeping that you didn't actually pick the numbers yourself. But mainly and like all sports people only remember who the winner was and not how they got there so what does he care.

Gutierrez was excellent charming the britches off Rousey. The episode before last when he was waltzing with her whistling an old fashioned tune you'd here in the black and white films was classic!.

Really? So the coaches challenge took place after Anthony got the boot?

Yeah, it's exactly like that. You must know so much about cutting weight & fighting. Share more of your vast knowledge please. Mr. Fight Master.

 I was talking about the guys reaction(Grant) on getting through by default scott free. Simply whats to feel bad about. Didnt mention anything about knowing about cutting weight for fights. Did you even watch the show lol.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,139 ✭✭✭✭Mr. Manager

He made it pretty clear why he was upset. He wanted to fight his way through to the final, not be given a pass cause someone couldn't make weight.

It's discrediting to him. People will always say, "well he might not have made the final if that fight went ahead".

Yeah - I saw it. It's called an emotional rollercoaster. Put yourself in his shoes - cutting weight and feeling like sh*t, in anticipation of the biggest fight of your career, and then not getting to release the pent up energy. Getting handed a win without working for it.
It's far from as simple as you described it. The fact that you even asked that question shows how clueless you are about it.

It's like asking why someone is crying after they win an Olympic gold medal or similar: "they won, FFS - what have they got to cry about? The loser should be crying if anything." A statement like that (and yours) shows a deep lack of understanding for pretty much anything competitive.

Yeah, lots of people disagree with facts & logic, so don't worry; you're not alone.
