FYI: This is Option Number Twenty-Five. Isn't this being a bit, uh, mean on the hamsters?
We have tumbled, as though through error, into a world which by all evidence was not intended for us. We cling to a fragment of a grain of sand until such time as the chill of death shall return us to primal matter. We strut for a tiny moment upon a tiny stage, well knowing that all our aspirations are doomed to ultimate failure and that everything we have achieved will perish with our race leaving the universe as though we had never existed.

I can't recall the author's name right now, but I will never forget this quote.

There's also a glitch in relation to the amount of pain inflicted by certain items,

For example, broken arms hurt but stepping on lego hurts more.
Thats a serious glitch considering stepping on lego doesn't even break the skin or break any bones etc

Try stepping on an upturned plug....lego is like getting a foot massage off of 2 20 year old topless masseuses after stepping on an upturned plug.

Serious glitch in humans compared to other animals (although we can't know for sure). What's with the pain of growing teeth? Do any other animals have to go through that?:(

But God didn't invent lego! I know he's supposed to be omniscient but is he prescient too? I mean one minute he's designing away, telling the little naked mudmen in the garden not to eat the apples, and next thing, the little feckers have gone and invented lego. I mean really, who do they think they are? I reckon lego related pain is a postfix addition to creation added by a slightly pissed off almighty myself.

    Actually i was wrong,
Lego was actually invented by the devil, the bible says so.
You just have to read into it

    http://news.sky.com/story/1171463/mars-meteorite-reveals-secrets-of-red-planet

A meteorite from Mars found by Bedouin tribesmen in the Sahara last year has been used to determine the Red Planet's crust was formed 4.4 billion years ago, scientists have said.

How convenient that they find the Meteorite only months after coming up with the conclusion the life originated from Mars.

    Only months?
Speculation of life on mars has been going since around 1854,

The first theory I saw myself about life being seeded from mars was in 2002 in relation to ALH84001, but I'm sure the idea has existed long before this.

What you are referring to is merely further evidence to support the theory which I believe was published back in April of this year,

Anyway, whatever way you look at it it still proves chain structures that didn't come from earth. So this puts some massive holes in the christian story's.

Frankly i can't wait for the day when full proof comes (and it will), it';ll be hilarious watching people like yourself trying to change all your views to claim the bible also included mars or whatever other planet or moon we find life on....Europa being a likely place for example.

Once again proof you don't know what you are talking about.

Ok basic point. Galaxies consist of huge amounts of empty space. Odds are all that will happen is the gravitational shifts of a few stars will be altered and their positions change. The chances of any physical collisions are incredibly slim.
    No big crash! :)

    Sorry Felicia, some other time.

    Terrlock wrote: »

    scam,
oh please do tell how exactly is it a scam?
    scam (skm) Slang
    n.
A fraudulent business scheme; a swindle.
    tr.v. scammed, scam·ming, scams
    To defraud; swindle.

So where's the swindle and how exactly are people being defrauded?

People thought the saw ice on mars back in 1854, we've since gone on to physically prove ice on mars. Wow, thats a serious scam. Call the police.

If this is a scam then I'll take it, money is put into science which has given us proof of something on mars and further theory's about mars many of which will likely be proven or changed in the future.

Even if you discard the whole life on mars stuff then the research alone put into space travel is well worth it. We've made a complete feck of our planet so looking to the stars is our best bet of surviving as a species.

In comparison, billions have gone into religion and its still offered no proof of any god or magic.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 692 ✭✭✭Terrlock

So we are to believe that an asteroid crashed into MARS, which just happened to cause the launch of a meteorite that contains all the basic elements of life.

And those basic elements managed to survive the solar radiation of the sun, re-entry into earth atmosphere, survive crashing into earth and then managed to spawn all life as we know it?

And you say the bible is far fetched.

Okay I want to see some concrete proof that non-biological elements can create RNA which in turn with produce DNA strands. which In turn can mutate into all forms of life. Not just some theories but concrete proof.

Also because of this thinking it allows people to really decide there own morality of whichever is most convenient to them.

If this is all true why do we put up with the so called upper classes and elitists controlling everything that goes on in this world.

If this universe is about survival of the fittest why are we not doing more about actually surviving.

So far all I can see is that people are doing the very best to wipe everyone out.

Indeed if man is left up to his own devices how long will it be before we get some idiot launching some world wide bomb or chemical that wipes everyone out?

Even if that doesn't happen how long will it be before some force of extreme nature such as a super volcano, or asteroid that comes along and say good night to the entire planet.

If that happens what is the point to it all.... we exist for one moment in time and then we don't. Which means we are actually nothing at all in the greater scheme of things.

so life survives so much disaster as a single strand of RNA, just to develop itself to be wiped out anyway.

    WHY?

Why did the universe produce life?
