That's actually a good deal if you wanted all them games, the same in gamestop with extra controller and 6 games would easily be over €800

To be honest, I would be the same, but once I am told I am getting one on launch day, I am getting more and more excited as the time approaches and would be disappointed if that was taken from me. If I was told while ordering I wouldn't be getting one until closer to Christmas, I'd live.

I was told i'd have a slim chance at best for launch and it'd probably be first come first serve, then a few weeks later I was told I'd probably be fine. No idea what boat I'm in but not overly fussed.

I'll just have to get gt6 to pass the time

There are definitely worse ways to pass the time.

I have to laugh about the wide range of crazy stock predictions without (m)any solid & reliable facts. We've got one person saying you'll be able to go into a store that took pre-orders and pick one off the shelves on day two and they'll throw the pre-order list out the window after day one (best of luck with that), and some saying it'll be March.

Firstly I don't think there'll be stock shortages.

Secondly I believe you'll be able to walk in and take someone who pre-ordered for launch day and didn't collect on day 2.
    That's if there were shortages.
They have no incentive to go through the list, when tonnes of people will be arriving with cash asking for an instant purchase...
''nah sorry we're going to ring these people instead and hope they come''.
It'll go the same way as when Xtravision used to sell early, Gamestop would lose all their pre-orders.

Maybe some companies will stay true to the list, and anticipate this long term shortage, but what's just as likely to happen is more stock will arrive fairly quickly and anyone who held onto pre orders and turned cash away will sell less than the company who takes the 'risk'.

No company has given a second period bar ''before xmas'' after launch day, so they can hold off that they'll get those pre orders met and sell for cash where they can.
A pre order isn't a sale, cash is.
Hard to turn away cash when a window has been left open to overlook people.

The likes of Gamestop and Xtra Vision will lose a TON of credibility if they do not stick to their respective lists. They 2 companies are already in a sorry state of affairs and cannot afford to p*ss people off too much more or will lose market share completely to online retailers. Part of the reason they are still open is due to this console launch. Hardcore gamers are the peple who placed pre orders and paid deposits months ago, why shouldnt they be entitled to their consoles first. they are the peple keeping these shops open

Also, more likely to be the people who will spend more money on games, and it really wouldn't take much for them to switch to Amazon or get there games digital only. Be really stupid to piss off that demographic imho.

Got word from gamestop that I am indeed getting mine on launch. Upgraded to the Killzone Mega Pack aswell.

I'm such a spa though, got annoyed and worried over nothing!

Exactly it would be a seriously bad move on their part to not honor pre-orders. Look at the backlash on this forum alone toward Gamestop not offering bundles/deals on the consoles at launch and charging full whack for games. I do not expect the majority of their stores to still be open 2 years down the line. The Amazon 2 for 1 on launch games is an amazing deal for the US its such a pity we cant get it here

Sh!t I never pre-ordered so I'm fvcked to get one on launch day might try argos on launch day but there will probably be lots of others trying the same:(

I'm reminded of when I preordered my 360 from Gamestop. I preordered months in advance & had it fully paid off. I got a call from them on the Tuesday before launch to confirm I was getting it, and when I went in on launch day at around 11AM, was promptly told they'd sold out.

After a few minutes of arguing the point, they finally "realised" they had one left in the back and I ended up with it. A guy I worked with who had also preordered and got the same Tuesday call wasn't able to get in that early & had to wait two more weeks.

I'd be a bit skeptical of Gamestop's credibility when it comes to console preorders.

Jesus that actually happened that is poor show. However it was 7 years ago and they were in a much better position in the market then. I'm just saying from a business point of view, it is an awful decision to piss off hardcore gamers. But that being said there is nothing stopping them from selling whatever console to whoever they want, that would be down to the individual working in the shop. I would imagine they have been told, "do not dell to anyone who doesnt have a pre order and isn't on X list"

Maybe there is a gamestop employee here who could confirm

You will not be allowed in the store for the midnight release without a ticket/invitation according to mine, no cash transactions either.

Has any one who ordered around the end of August been offered a Bundle by Gamestop by any chance? Have read most of this thread but i haven't seen any one mention it.

There's been quite a lot of talk about it actually.

Anyway, I preordered in May with GS and was offered and accepted the KZ Megabundle a few weeks ago.

I'm wondering the same thing as well. Also will people be asked for ID on launch day?

Anyone want to advise how confident I should be of getting my Killzone Bundle from Harvey Normans on launch day, the preorder was made on the 10th September?

I wouldn't be booking the day off work just yet!

Booked mine at the start of august in gamestop. Promised a day one release but im still not 100 percent confident I will get it.

Has anyone decided what time they are queuing up from?

On a side note, regardless if you have the console fully paid up or not, you still have to join the same que for launch night in gsmestop

I pre-ordered on the 28th of august and was offered the killzone mega pack earlier today and guaranteed launch pick up too.

No mention about ID while i was in store!

I pre order mine in gs in Stephens green at the start of June and haven't got a call yet. I called into the shop twice over the last few weeks and they have assured me I'm getting one on launch day. Just have to wait and see I suppose.

If there is not a console waiting inside for you at the midnight launch you will not be allowed in store, it has to be paid off as well, no cash transactions on the night for safety reasons.

Store to store about the no cash on the night. My gamestop told me they'll accept cash on the night but that people would need to be in before 10 so they can start going through people who need to pay. Although, mine is in a shopping centre and not the high street.

are you sure. i asked in kilkenny shop about that and they said that i will be okay to pay outstanding monies in shop when colllect preorder. i'm still affraid about my preorder no one ring me i just get confirmation im shop from guy that i'm in 1st batch. still worry that this cancellation that i mentioned earlier could affect my preorder (i pre in june but when i trade in my ps3 few weeksago instead put my cash against june preorder they cancel june one and created new preorder just in case i keep both recepits)

Wow, be there for 10 for the midnight opening? Sounds like a mare. i'd imagine the best bet is for people to pay earlier that day or week where possible.

Still no word on exactly what way smyths are going to do things.

It's just so that when midnight comes along they can get those who have paid in full in and out as quick as possible. They did it for GTA V and it worked well enough.

Have the Killzone bundle preordered in the Kinsale rd store since Oct 10th. Was told by a floor manager Monday I'm guaranteed a launch day bundle unless something drastic happens with their supplier
