How that insufferable twat ever kept the job for as long as he did is a borderline miracle. To be honest, the vast majority of the racing presenters really do grind my gears.. Apart from Emma Spencer of course, but I don't tend to actually listen to her ;)

I think they should make this forum privite like the soccer one; request and over 50 posts. Might keep out some of the idiots.

I hope the next person to call him 'The Fly' gets a really bad dose of the runs

    Ding ding ding!

    Round 1

Only messing. I don't call him The Fly but don't really mind it. I suppose it does remind me of the degenerates you see in the bookies gambling their last tenner on virtual racing while their families starve

My brother in law is staying with us tomorrow but I appear to have drank all the craft stout I got in for him....

Must stop off somewhere on the way home after work tomorrow. Suppose I'll have to share one of my whiskey barrel aged bottles with him.

One of my biggest winners ever was Inglis Drever in the 2007 stayers. I watched the race in the Victor Chandler office on Baggot St (almost used my usual derogatory play on words to describe it as the "VD office" but thought better of it)

When Inglis Drever & Mighty Man were fighting it out up the hill some gimp standing beside me was shouting "Come on the mighty". Would thinking he should be sterilised be too harsh?

My biggest win was Home Secretary at Dundalk one Friday night. Had a good chunk at 16s then went to the pub and was much more confident after six pints and backed it accordingly. Thank god it won

Farhh was my biggest win when he won the Lockinge, had my left testicle on it. Thought I was ****ed when the money came for Declaration Of War but Farhh smoked him.

Other nice win was Back In Focus at 12/1 Ante post.

My memory doesn't go back much further than last year though so I can't remember.

    Question for everyone

I remember chatting to a few of the lads one night about first 100 quid bets

Thing was all of us said the first time we'd 100 quid on a horse it lost! Every one of us.

How about you. Go Native if you're listening into this conversation among mere mortals then replace 100 quid with 20k

I think first one won on a horse called Denton at Kempton at 5/2. 200 of it lost on Goldikova the next day at 2s on

I'm not saying who mine was!

Although I will divulge it was a classy enough bumper horse in a maiden hurdle. I'd 120 on at 4/6 in the morning. It started 3s on & I'm not even sure it finished in the first 10. Was really disappointing over jumps. Luckily enough it was a few weeks before Cheltenham 03 when I came home from The UK needing an extra wallet to carry my cash so it didn't dent my confidence too much!!!

I laughed in someone's face when I was told the Berties Dream tip for Cheltenham. :o Think he was 33/1 and hosed in.
