Yea. Looks like some of the ducks are lining up. *speculation* Spoilers?
10 is around the time before he dies/meets the Master after his screwup on Mars. IIRC he went back and hung around with Queen Lizzy the first at that point. Cue Zygon plot in the court. During this something about the time war comes up? Lizzy leaves clues(or pretty obvious warnings) in paintings she commissions, which 11 then discovers in the present day. He wings it back to Tudor England and 10/11 meet. For some reason he's forgotten about this cos of some major universe ending time distortion thingy? Meanwhile in another time and place Hurt/9/real 10 is fighting the time war, but someone/the Daleks are changing the outcome and this is focused on Tudor England for some reason. Cue Bad Wolf rose(no effort to make her look like she did and the lightbulb eyes) warning him(like I reckoned a while back she may only be in it in passing, never meeting 10/11 onscreen) about this and telling him to also go to Tudor England, where the three docs meet to set the universe back to the way it should be using all three Tardises and lots of running. Place yer bets :D

Some very interesting things in there:
    Three things immediately struck me:
    1) Rose with the Hurt doctor.
    2) A clip of her with her eyes glowing (as in The Parting of The Ways).
    3) "The Moment is coming" is probably a reference to "The Moment", which has been referred to as something The Doctor used to stop the Time War.

    Looking good so far :D

It disappeared off that dailymotion link, but here it is in all its official, HD glory.
I'm not ashamed to admit that despite being a 33-year old male, I squeed more than a little while watching.

    I dunno BB,
I'm starting to drift away from the Bad Wolf notion. The glowing eyes could be Moffat having some fun with the fans? Now that we see the HD trailer, she looks nothing like she did in any previous incarnations(so to speak:)) dressed differently and seems to have Keith Richards stylee crap in her hair. Plus she seems to be on some alien planet or other. Sure Bad Wolf could do that, but... Maybe this is Moffats way of bringing her back to satisfy the RTD fans, but not actually bringing "Rose" back? Maybe she's a "cover" for someone or something else? Another Time Lord? And only Hurt's Doc meets her, which would explain her absence from all the leaked set photos
    Looking good so far :D
    It is that :)

My local cinema is showing it too... very tempted though I'm not particularly a fan of 3D to be honest (though Gravity seems to be the exception, judging by reviews).

    "Ooh you've redecorated... I don't like it."
    :D

The Smith/Tennant stuff alone looks like it might make this episode a belter. It's a shame their belated proposal for a split season between them never went past a happy discussion between the two

Details have come out when it airs
The 50th anniversary episode will air at 7.50pm on November 23. It is going to be broadcast as part of a worldwide simulcast in over 75 countries.
    From Canada to Columbia
It's also been confirmed David and Matt will both be guests on The Graham Norton Show on November 22, the day before The Day of the Doctor airs.

It certainly will be the Day of the Doctor! here's a countdown to the day & some of the schedule.

The rumour that simply won't die: so there's also going to be a 7 minute 'minisode' which will go live on the BBC Red button service from 16th November. Apparently it'll feature 1 of the three doctors from the anniversary special and there's a rumour going around it'll involve another. Naturally the internet is immediately presuming this to be McGann ;)

I don't think I could survive the heart attack I would have if McGann played The Doctor once more.

    I'd say that it's
Kate Stewart of UNIT, you can see her in the first, leaked trailer (it's brief but I caught a look at her via some screencaps)

I'm hoping that there's something in it that no one sees coming. From the trailer I'm coming to the same conclusions as Wibbs, but I think Moffat loves to surprise us (Christmas must be the business for his kids).

I can imagine him rubbing his hands in glee at everyone watching it at the same time. :) I'm delighted we decided to buy the tickets for the cinema now. I'll have it recorded in 2D when I get home too.

That's our plan too, watch it first in the cinema then again when we get home.

The 19:30 Cineworld showing of this is already marked as "Unavailable" and has been for a few days. Did a bunch of rabid fans get ahead of us all? The 21:30 showing is still there.
The 19:00 Lighthouse showing is also sold out.

I got some of the last tickets for the cinema in Swords but had to book the seats separately as there were none left together.

Hopefully Ryanair wont be delayed and we get there in time!

I have 3 tickets for the Swords showing which I can't use now as I have to be elsewhere (disgusted does not even come close to it) and they are 3 seats together. Will gladly pass them on for face value and I am sure I can go in with my card and print them off any day really so happy to organise to meet a prospective purchaser and pass them on if anyone is interested.

The tickets for the 19:30 showing in Cineworld was sold out after about 10 minutes of being available on the day.

The Eye in Galway has added a second screen.

    So. Many. Who-nerds.

    I'm quite excited!

Last time I checked Coolock and Blanch still had a fair few tickets available.

Fiddling about with my previous musings/BS/Guesswork....
10 is around the time before he dies/meets the Master after his screwup on Mars. IIRC he went back and hung around with Queen Lizzy the first at that point. Cue Zygon plot in the court.

During this something about the time war comes up. Lizzy leaves clues(or pretty obvious warnings) in paintings she commissions, which 11 then discovers in the present day. The Time war is leaving all sorts of wibbly wobbly stuff happening in the present day which freaks him out. So he wings it back to Tudor England where this distortion seems to be focused and 10/11 meet(For some reason he's forgotten about this cos of the major universe ending time distortion thingy?).

Meanwhile in another time and place Hurt/9/real 10 is fighting the time war, but someone/the Daleks are changing the outcome and this is focused on Tudor England(the Time Lord "moment" thingie is hidden in that time and place?). Rose/Bad Wolf meets Hurt Doc in the middle of the time war and guides him to Tudor England too, where he and 10 and 11 all meet up. Where the three docs meet to set the universe back to the way it should be using all three Tardises and lots of running.

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

who do we think says i'm looking for the dr at the end of the trailer?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,290 ✭✭✭MrVestek

I still think Moffat is using this as a vehicle to rewrite the time war and bring back the timelords.

I seem to recall reading or seeing a few interviews with Moffat expressing disappointment that the timelords were killed off and of him being tired of the doctor being this lonely sad old man as a consequence.

    That's John Hurt's voice.
