    It's because Sony is shipping more bundles than solo packs. Retailers didn't expect this. More people ordered solos than bundles, therein is the problem. Unless retailers force people to pay more for a bundle they didn't order or wait for more solos to arrive.

    Your order date and the bundle you chose will determine it, if the solo shortage is true. It's more about those on the cusp near the end. If you pick a bundle that not many others did you might get it at launch even if you ordered very late, if you ordered early you're likely safe to get something.

    It's those who ordered a solo PS4 or a bundle that's sold out (meaning they get a solo) at the end before the cut off date who might not get it. It's like the CAO but everyone has the same second choice and there's not that many places for that.

    For Amazon they've confirmed some bundles but they're still working through most of them, but it's the retail shops that will have a problem as they've already confirmed all orders. If you have a killzone mega pre-order but they sell out before getting to you then you might not get anything at launch.

    So if your Amazon order is marked as "Not Yet Dispatched", does that mean you've been safely allocated what you ordered?

    You would think people who ordered early would not have to worry, stores are getting the same amount of stock, just in different bundles, but I know some stores were letting anyone who came in upgrade to a bundle.

    You're only safe when you have a expected delivery date, mine jumps from "Not Yet Dispatched" to "Pre-ordered" a few times a day.

    The Gamestop I've ordered in said half of the first batch are Killzone bundles (€440) and the other half are just standard Ps4's,with around 5 of them mega bundles.
    Some people could miss out on a PS4 if they don't want to go for a bundle and pay an extra €40. I know I don't want a Killzone bundle but it could come down to it or nothing till a second batch comes in.

    Only got a call from my local Gamestop today to update to a bundle and a choose the Killzone €439 one. Thought it was too late to upgrade :)

    All stores are still taking them, but you will be very lucky to get one before christmas now, you should pre order at amazon as well for a back up.

    I was just using the online chat to talk to someone in amazon there and they said he guaranteed delivery by Christmas, I'm still very nervous to go ahead and click buy but it seems like my only option now or else I'll defo have none for Christmas morning !

    I ordered from Xtra Vision two months ago and was told I would get them the PS4 in the second batch! Does anyone know will there be a second wave of PS4s before XMAS? thanks

    Happy, getting mine from Amazon Germany, final decision, pre-ordered the Killzone megabundle and today got the code for for buy 2 games and get 1 free.
    Won't be available till January but this is great value, so worth the wait.
    Might get Fifa 14 separately, then Killzone as part of the bundle, then BF4, Knack and maybe Need for Speed.

    It says not yet dispatched in the order details and pre-ordered in the overall order screen.

    I've got a pre-order with Gamestop and Gamesnash (though not technically a pre-order yet), not too concerned about when I get them, just wanna know if these bundles will still be available after the first wave.

    I am in a second batch for XV as well. The manager was very adamant that second batch folks would be get their consoles before Christmas.

    i might go pre order it this week if i dont get it before xmas i dont want it as its for my son not me im shour most people buying for there kids will feel the same im shour there will be more than people think though its just panic

    If you are just pre-ordering it now you will not get it before Christmas anyway, but try Amazon and you might get lucky, your looking at February at this stage in a brick and mortar store.

    Crap, was looking at getting this for himself for Xmas, I don't know why I didn't pre order sooner :(
    D'ya reckon there's be a realistic chance of Amazon delivering on time?

    Amazon are still promising the PS4 after launch but before Christmas, which they aren't doing for the Xbox One. I see no reason not to believe them.
