    Depends how you define healthier.

Black pudding has far more iron.

Depends what the recipe on both is

just wondered if one might be generally considered more or less healthier than the other. taking same brand as standard i suppose, Rudds white vs Rudds black or Annascaul white v black. not a big pudding eater, just curious

depends on the ingredients list really.

I would be more concerned with the salt and fat content. I can't imagine pudding being healthy period.

I know I am stating the obvious, but there is rarely such a thing as an unhealthy food item, its the total diet that counts.

Lots of foods, like pudding have high salt and fat content, but the two slices I eat once a week doesn't contribute much to the overall amount of salt and fat I eat.

To answer the OP , I cant see much of a difference,
They are both processed pork products. Most brands are high in salt and fat.
As has already been pointed out, black pudding has more iron, due to the blood.

yeah I guess I meant which would be less unhealthy if you were in the habit of eating just one of them

    Annascaul got back to me............

    Hi,
Some people love the white and some love the black!
‘Re health – the black is the ultimate health food I think. I love having it for the kids. It is a low fat food, no additives or preservatives but most importantly a 100g slice has double the adults daily iron requirement.
The white is delicious as it has gammon in it. The pork content means that there is some nitrates as there has to be
with pork. It is relatively low compared to other white puddings.
The black would be my winner ‘re health though.

    Hope this is of help.
    Annascaul Black Pudding

black pudd is their main product though I guess.

It is all in the cooking method alright. I didn't think black pudding was particularly unhealthy... when my iron levels were low my doctor recommended I increase my steak and black pudding intake, with a glass of orange juice. :) I grill them usually. Google tells me they are the food with the highest iron content available.

Obviously there are medical conditions were you don't want to be taking extra iron at all.... so it's all subjective to what you are aiming for.

Denny's isn't black or white pudding IMO.

The difference between it and something like Clonality is massive

I’d say the pudding is probably gone off after nine years, black or white
