Anyone have any recommendations for something from XBLA? I'm thinking I need something platformer-y and easy to pick up, play for a few minutes, and put away again. SO nothing all consuming. Much as I would love to get stuck into GTAV, I just can't. Maybe nothing more than €10, that'd be great too...

Scott Pilgrim Vs the World is a great little scrolling beat-em-up :)

I got a gift of Terraria last night and ended up on friends server, it was scary to be dropped in to the middle of it, but it's a really cool game, it's basically 2D Minecraft.

They had already shaped the world, they had floating island fortresses and massive tunnels and were working on projects such as an autobahn (bf is german).

Hopefully they will start a new world in a while so I can start from scratch as well.

^It's also ridiculously tough, if I recall correctly. The OST is fantastic enough to make you want to push through the difficulty curve.

It's over your budget but keep an eye out for Bastion going on sale. It's a great little game and the difficulty is very customisable once you unlock a few things. There's a free demo as well to see if you like it.

I'm currently playing Alice: Madness Returns and Papers, Please.

Alice is good (I'm a bit obsessed with alternate tellings of Alice in general) but there are some really irritating camera issues. Papers, Please is bizarrely addictive considering it was described as a "bureaucracy-'em-up" by Yahtzee from ZP. You can get a free demo for it from Papersplea.se

I played Gone Home last night. It's more of an interactive story than a game, I guess, but I really enjoyed it. It really took me by surprise.
It also deals strongly with LGBT themes but in a real and respectful way. I didn't know those elements were in the game at all but I was delighted to see it.

Incase anyone is reading this thread but not the Gay Irish Gamers one.

We are meeting for drink Thursday night (7 November) at the Long Stone bar (11 Townsend St. D2) at 7pm.

All welcome, it's just to get together for a nerdy chat and meet a few other fellow LGBT gamers/geeks.

Also anyone play Magicka? I really like the magic casting system but it's sluggish on my laptop and I am finding the large battles difficult. I think the cybergoth robes would be a great cosplay idea :D

For anyone that has played the Walking Dead, I recommend checking out "The Wolf Among Us".
