PS4 Pre-Order Thread! Where are you getting yours?

Just on the Amazon website and seen the PS4 console is still available to order for delivery before Xmas. Anyone know what the story is with this as in what chance is there of getting one before xmas. Im not in a hurry for one but was talking to the lad in Smyths who seems to think there will be plenty of stock after xmas and Amazon still taking orders for before xmas maybe the will be able to fullfill it.

If they get enough stock in you will get one, but if they have stock shortages they will say for example only those who pre-ordered before the 20th of September will get one and give a estimate of when new stock will be in on the PS4 page, it has happened before with games like Ni no Kuni. As regards stock after Christmas, you should have another million units available on top of the million being made available between launch and the end of december outside of the US from January to March.

Yeah thats what I thought Id say after xmas Late Jan you should be able to pick one of the shelf

I would not go as far as saying picking one off of the shelf, you will still have a backlog of pre orders well into early next year, a lot of stores have about 10 plus pages of pre orders, nobody should think they can just walk in and pick one up, it is wiser just to pre order now and when they have stock you will get one, they have 2 million consoles to go around outside the US from Launch to March, that is not really that much.

Amazon UK will be getting more online stock than any other Ireland or UK website so I'd say you will be guaranteed one before Christmas if you preorder soon. You can always cancel if you manage to find one in a brick and morter store before hand. You aren't charged till it ships and you will recieve a shipping date week or so atleast before it's sent.

100% when it ships. Loads of people have preordered on Amazon and elsewhere, so a lot of Amazon orders will probably be cancelled on the run up to release, once they know their Gamestop etc day 1 is secured. Easy to cancel online no questions asked.

They were saying last week that they were sold out of them and will not be getting anymore stock in after launch

Yeah exactly! I don't think HN realize how much people actually want these consoles and if it is some sort of stroke by them then they will feel the wrath of some angry gamers!

If it all turns out well for people pre ordering let then I'm delighted for them!

Unfortunately sometimes sales people have a tendency to oversell without actually knowing if they can fulfill orders, seen it first hand! I can see from the FB comments that the Stores themselves are in the dark over launch day KZ Bundles when dealing with one person whom commented!

I wouldn't put too much stock in what Smyths say. I pre-ordered the console in May, and got the option to upgrade to the kilzone bundle in early October, which I did. Last week I got a call saying that Smyths couldn't stand over the bundle offers (despite what Sony said), and the put me back down to a console only. Apparently the store in Swords, only got 13 of these bundles! They also said they may have some offers on the day, but to be honest they are a joke, and I will not be shopping there again!

Sony confirmed that this was Smyths fault.

I worked in retail myself so know all about the over selling of stock just to get customers in ( If I ever see a tellytubbie doll again dont know what I'll be responsible for ha ha ). Im inclined to agree with the lad I spoke to in smyths he seemed on the ball he even made the point that alot of people may even have two or three preorders in various shops and once they get their stock they wont bother picking up the other so that stock will go to other pre orders etc. He seem confident enough that stock would be available in Jan. Im not that bothered as Fifa 14 and Killzone are the only games on my radar at launch so I can wait awhile longer. Dont get me wrong if I could get one launch hassle free Id be all over it:)

They are only have meant to have got 50 of the bundles to go around all their stores.

They told me 1000 across all stores and all bundles....:)!
Anyway the point is that Sony said all people who pre ordered could avail of a bundle, and this appears to be the case at other retailers (Amazon etc.). Smyths obviously made a mess of their order and in doing so have cost a lot of people €100, as that was the saving on the Mega Bundle compared to buying the stuff individually.

I don't blames the guys on the shop floor, its not their fault.........
I only went with Smyths because it guaranteed getting day one, and avoiding any postal delays!

My local Gamestop only got 5 Killzone mega bundles and the same with the Watchdogs bundles till that went pear shaped.

According to their site, they will only accept an item if its in perfect condition, taking note of any cosmetic damage, if its badly damaged they refuse it.

€3.50 to cover €500 worth of damage if something goes wrong. Wether it be theft from the PM Box you pick or damage etc.

What happens if my parcel is lost or damaged in transit?

If the packaging is slightly damaged but the contents appear OK when it arrives at our Check-In centre, we will note it in our system that the packaging is damaged and we will deliver to your preferred Parcel Motel.

If there is serious damage to the outer packaging and there is obvious damage to the contents we will refuse to accept delivery from the carrier and we'll notify you.

Thanks for the heads up flynner, hadn't even considered Parcel Motel as an option. I'm getting Assassin's Creed IV off Amazon the week before so I'll be sure to try it out with that first.

Just been advised by Amazon UK definitely won't get solus console on release date. Be lucky to get it before Christmas. Ordered 24 August. Lesson learnt-should have pre-ordered a bundle as there's people who ordered a week ago who'll be getting it on release date.

Confirmed with Xtra Vision there that I will have mine on launch, ordered on the 8th August. He said the second wave (post August 19th) would hopefully be in for Christmas

Surely that's not correct? People here have stated they've ordered much later than August 24th and have received release day estimates (or in some cases +4 or 5 days because they went for free shipping).

I had a PS3 superslim delivered via parcel motel in September and it was fine.

I went into Harvey Norman in Blanchardstown. The guy there confirmed that they're getting a small number of extra consoles from Sony. He also double checked with various other people and said he could 100% guarantee they'd have them at launch. Whether or not this is true I can't say but I figured since I hadn't pre-ordered anywhere else it was worth a shot.

So went into GS earlier to change to the killzone bundle as had watch dogs bundle preordered the guy said I couldn't change over as if I did I would lose my place in the queue
