- Wait
- Get console, run to car, don't stop for anyone

Lucky enough my local is right beside the store, so hopefully have the ticket stamped and stumble in when they open, mine is gonna be put aside anyway for me.

Assuming a midnight launch in Smyths, my plan is
- Make sure house is packed with crisps, dips, snacks and beer
- Arrive at Smyths at midnight
- Pick up console, controller and a few games
- Leg it home a-la Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory (except I will be driving)
- Set up system
- Make sure it works by playing it - this may take several hours
- Fall asleep, controller in hand
- Wake up, drop the kids to school
- Come home start playing properly
- Kill anything that moves (in the game - obviously)

My plan is simple enough: Wait for the delivery man on the 29th.

I'll have to head to a local HMV or Xtravision to trade in current gen FIFA 14 for the next gen version (should be €14.99 according to the ads) on the 29th.

I've got NBA2K14 arriving to parcel motel on the Saturday.

CoD: Ghosts arriving in 8 or 9 days, well ahead of the PS4. Getting Killzone as part of the mega bundle.

Must get my secretary to clear my schedule. First I need to get a secretary.....and a schedule.

If it is a midnight launch, I would not trust them to keep it for you till the next day, you could get the oops we ran out of stock line.

I just pictured you staring out the sitting room window looking longingly at every car hoping it slows down, then as you can take it no more, you have to run to the loo as the door knocks... AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Haven't decided about upgrading FIFA yet, it is my sons but I guess if Smyths are doing a good deal might as well do it.

Agreed, don't think I could sleep knowing it was in there waiting for me either.

Also there is still that last chance that they may have an extra killzone megabundle that will go on a first come first served basis. My hopes aren't high on that one but it is a possibility.

That's pretty much how I picture the day going too.

That, or I decide to pop out to the local HMV or shop, and he arrives in the 15 mins I'm gone, after waiting 5 hours for him to arrive :pac:

Did anybody see the news that Sony has put the 1.50 PS4 Firmware Update on their servers already? Here is the thread on Neogaf about it. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=706047

So get a USB, create a folder called "PS4" on it, then inside this create a folder called "Update". Put the file in here and on Launch Day you won't have to download the update

(Well assuming if it is like PS3 anyway, that will be the folder structure)

I'd caution against using that firmware, they could easily revise it closer to launch if there's problems with it etc. Plus the link is dead

Just changed my amazon uk delivery method to two day delivery for the killzone gamer bundle cost me €30 hopefully I get it Friday or Saturday.

Oh yeah so it. Glad I grabbed it last night then ^_^
If it is anything like the PS3(Kiosk) firmware updates then it won't let you install it to a retail PS4 anyway so should be fine.

I guess it really doesn't matter as the console will be out in the US 15th November and the firmware will be officially available to download on the US Playstation website by then. Plenty of time for us all to grab it in Ireland and slap on a USB ready for launch.

Nope the console is reserved for 48 hours, I have checked and double checked and triple checked with them.

Maybe cut the BF4 fanboy stuff down a notch. Plenty of other great games out there as well, and not everyone is into FPS games as well.

I was told the same by Gamestop about them being reserved for 48 hours too. I am 20th on the list or thereabouts

Killzone won't be good; get BF4

an early ign preview suggests that Killzone looks impressive, each to there own.
