MECH ENG: Progressing from L7 to L8 degree

Hi all,

I searched the forum and the questions are not quite what I was looking for, hence the new thread.

In 3rd (final) year of Mechanical Engineering level 7 in CIT, wondering if there are options to progress to a level 8 Engineering degree in UCC and if so what year do I move to.

In CIT if progressing to a level 8 Engineering degree (BEng (Honours) Mechanical Engineering or BEng (Hons) Sustainable Energy) you progress to year 3 of those courses, ie: you have both 3rd and 4th year to do to get the honours degree.

The reason I ask is I'd like to keep my options open and I'm unsure as to what options UCC offers, their website details postgraduate opportunites for holders of level 8 degrees, not applicable to level 7 degree holders. I tried ringing UCC but there was no reply.

I'm not able to change to a college outside of Cork city and I would be doing the course full-time by day, as opposed to part-time or by night.
