Seems waayyyyy too late to be guaranteeing a console for launch day. Only ever used them for games and currently impatiently waiting for a BF4 origin code from them. But this just doesn't seem plausible this late in the game.

I'm sure people will disagree with some or all of my reasoning. It's a little off topic, but seeing as the question was asked:

Although they've since gone back on it, I didn't like the original direction that Microsoft were going with with the DRM stuff. The announcement of the Xbox One, where they showed all the fancy non-gaming features was a major let down for a few reasons.

Firstly, most of the features they showed were U.S centric. Secondly, I have a small room for gaming. It's a different room to main room where the Sky box is, so their "one" concept, isn't relevant for me. My TV box and gaming console will never be inextricably linked. I think that's pretty much a fundamental flaw in their idea (unless your GF, BF, housemates, etc are fine with you hogging the tv in the main room of the house while you game for hours on end, or you are happy to give up hours of gaming while there are soaps on the TV, etc). It's a bit concerning that you would announce a new games console, and you barely discuss games at all when presenting it to the world.

Added to that, the vast majority of people I'd play games with online have opted for the PS4 which is a big draw too. I've a good friend that works in the games industry and the overriding theme is that Microsoft haven't really gotten their sh!t together and are scrambling like crazy behind the scenes.

I've loads of things that I dislike about the PS3, and many things I like about the 360, but all of the above makes me thing PS4 is the logical choice this time.

have to say have always bought new consoles since the ps1 a couple of weeks after launch without much hassel. I always like to know if there are any teething issues before buying.
I think the hype machine and Xmas demand create shortages.

Just wondering, are these bundles a launch only thing? I've pre-ordered the PS4, but it was after the cut-off point. Not too bothered about getting it on launch day, or even this year to be honest. But I do want the bundle.

How I envy the people getting the Killzone bundle. I hope Gamestop will offer a one of their own bundles to the online pre-orders.

If not I will damn them through all 7 hells and stop using them.

I will use Amazon and Game (for exclusive collector editions)from now on. Parcel Motel got me the batman CE last Saturday. I would cancel but I would have to wait until next year otherwise.

Hope most Gamestop do something similar to this, I have my PS4 payed off and it would be great just to walk in, hand over the receipt and pick it up without having to queue up if it is not a midnight release, but do not like how GAME are gonna be doing a first come first serve model, it will be chaos on the night.

Consumers are being offered the chance to jump straight to the front of the queue when buying either Xbox One or PS4.

Its new Get Gaming Quicker scheme allows shoppers to head into their local GAME and sort their next-gen order ahead of the official launch date. At that time they can secure their order, sort out any trade-ins they are hoping to make and even pay for their machine.

They will then be given access to the “fast lane” either at any midnight launch event or on launch day allowing them to turn up at a store and collect their console without queuing behind the rest of the peasants.

GAME reckons this will make the process “ten times faster” for participants.

Yeah I was the same, just went in and put another €20 down as a deposit and am still first on the list, well behind staff, but if you cancel the bundle you will be put back to the back of the list.
