double beacons on tractors.....

I have a new holland 7740 I want to put double beacons on the .back. I know how to wire them but what way is the best way to put them on the back. Thanks hope to get suggestions. I see somepeople and they have these kinda Silver brackets...????

you should be able to get the brackets from where ever you get the beacons from

That is what I saw. Does anyone know where I could buy them off the internet on a website. ..????

The brackets in either link above are what you looking for, they bolt in under the rear work light brackets!

why do you need beacons??you know they are illegal to use on the public roads...

I thought you were supposed to have one now too . The brother put a fine one on the fathers tractor during the summer and I got it caught on a branch when topping , made smidereens of it . He bought a new one the following week claiming he could be "done" without one nowadays

Never seen a guard pull over a machine for beacons but seen them get on to lads for not having them

Machines used for road maintance may have beacons, including hedge cutting.

Beacons are also required on building sites.

Also I find them very useful when feeding cattle during the winter months as they really light up the reflective vests of other people on the ground, particularly useful for the old man who is getting slow about getting out of the way.

Beacons may be currently illeagl for general road use, but they do have legal uses.

Road Traffic (Lighting of Vehicles) Regulations 1963

42. No lamp (other than direction indicators) fitted to a vehicle shall show or be constructed or adapted so as to be capable of showing a flashing light unless such light is invisible to persons outside the vehicle.

Exemptions:

(18) (a) The requirements of Parts II and VI of these Regulations shall not apply to a lamp which is carried on an ambulance, a fire brigade vehicle or a vehicle being used by a member of the Garda Síochána in the performance of his duties as such member and which complies with the provisions of this sub-article.
(b) (i) The lamp shall where possible be fitted on the roof of the vehicle on a point on its longitudinal axis.
(ii) No part of the illuminated surface of the lamp shall be less than 5 feet from the ground.
(iii) The power of the lamp shall not exceed 50 watts.
(iv) The area of the orthogonal projection on to any vertical plane of that part of the lamp through which light is shown shall be capable of lying wholly within a square having sides of 9 inches in length.
(v) The light shown by the lamp shall be blue.

In 1979,under the Road Traffic (Lighting of Vehicles) (Ammendment) Regulations 1979 this was amended to include amber flashing lights on recovery vehicles, road works vehicles, snow ploughs, hedge cutters and road maintenance vehicles.

this may not be the latest amendment, I'm sure bin lorries were added to this also. I'm also sure slow vehicles/ abnormal loads will be also, if they have not already.
