Windows login forgotten password.

    Hi,

    I've done some stupid things in my time but this one takes the biscuit.

    I bought a new laptop but set it up drunk. So with my newly acquired sense of security I changed my password but in the cold light of day I have forgotten it. I have tried every option and it seems I'm left with reinstalling windows 8. So my question is how do I begin this process with out actually getting past the opening login screen?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated and I apologise for asking about such a silly problem.

    resets are fine since physical access is needed and no passwords are disclosed
