I can never seem to get reasonable quotes for my criteria (4 years ncb, full licence over 5 years)

Maybe its the car being a tad in the old side

    I'm sure they're listed :)

Yeah my insurance was beginning to go up on my old 98 passat.
My insurance was just €23 more for the bm!

They weren't much less without them.... The Fiesta was standard apart from some stickerbombing in the inside yet still nearly a grand insurance

Lads I just got confirmation of my driving test next Friday the 1st (license is out on the 12th, insurance due the 13th).

My question is are you able to enable your speed limiter for the test? The C5 has this feature and I figured it could be convenient (not that I'm going to speed of course).

AFAIK you are allowed to use any feature the car has. I used the cruse control in the passat to stop myself from speeding in a long 60km/h section :)

Does that actually work? I never tried it on mine.

I remember being told that it's better to do 65 for my test than 55 in a 60 zone.

I failed my first driving test for speeding - as in breaking the posted speed limit :o

In fairness I hadn't had any lessons or anything!

The most recent (and now former) lady pickles had her test cancelled due to the fact the tester "feared for his life" :pac:

Well to put a long story short imagine every rule, method of driving, y'know second gear around roundabouts, going slow between parked cars, giving way to pedestrians etc, now totally forget them

That's essentially what she did, all the speed limits and everything, gone

I asked my instructor this, you know keeping up with the flow of traffic etc,
He looked at me wryly and said "if you break the speed limit, you will fail, the other stuff you might fail depending on the tester, you decide!"

As it turns out Naas was chokker that day, so it wasnt an issue.

I also had a letter from my doctor advising me to wear sunglasses when sunny (strange but true) but the tester wouldn't let me wear them.

If you have tits, long legs, a very short skirt and a low cut top you will pass:pac:

Or at least thats the only reason I can see how my ex wife passed, she was (and still is )a useless driver

And maintenace to her (and her whole family) means......if it wont work atall bring it to the garage and then whinge for months about the cost coz its completely fooked!

I used to cringe whenever my father in law wanted to borrow something off me:(

Lads does anyone know if superglue would bond glass to glass? like loctite or something, a little problemo has arisen with a friends motor :/ the mirror slides out see, but the lovely people at halfrauds ripped it out and took a piece of glass with it :/ which is still stuck to the mount, doesn have windscreen cover so yeah, would it work??

Very hard to make it bond glass and will never be very strong. If super glue is the only option you have breathe on both bits of glass first then put the glue on (obviously the glass should be perfectly clean).

Water makes superglue dry so the condensation from your breath will make it dry :)

I'll give this a go, hopefully it'l work! I don't really fancy listening to rants about it anymore

    no... been there. :(

you can get special glue in motor factors that is for glueing rear view mirrors to windscreens :)
